I was told there are a couple of different types when I needed them for my 400se (same year).
You are best advised to get someone who knows to have a look. RT racing did mine (sheffield)

Not quite so easy for Bernard who lives in Holland.
So it was the UJ's then?
measure the diameter of across the diameter of the knuckles and post again Bernard. Someone who knows will tell you which type you have.

They "should" be Hardy Spicer HS179. The cap diameter should be 30.20MM and the distance between the outer faces of opposing end caps should be 106.30MM.

For comparison do you know the dims for the XJ6/200i/280i/350i version?

Hey Roger, everything alright there on the island? Invitation remains open if you ever want to visit Rotterdam !

I don't know what it is yet as i'm planning to have a look next week with a friend who is a mechanic and who helps us with the Hardy car collection. Just suspect it's the UJ's and want get parts a.s.a.p. when i know what's wrong to get her fixed before the last tvr meeting of the year which is in november.....

Can't measure as I don't have my tvr here it's at my parents in the garage just half an hour drive from here. Take care!!

For my old 350I which had the smaller yokes (compared to the 400) they were 27MM cap diameter and 81.8MM across the cap ends. Hardy Spicer HS163 or HS166 are the part nos. , the former being heavy duty. Both are type 1310. I'll look later which ones I would have used. I suspect the HD items may not fit because of the bulkier central portion of the joint.
