Thanks Steve. DP if you want to sell the bar giz a call by e mail as I'm going to fit one to the SEAC for some Track days/Sprints. I understand (but could be wrong) that the Tower View bar is to FIA approved standards whilst the Penninsula on is not but is equally substantial. I haven't got my RAC Blue Book handy to know the hieghts above heads, etc, but there is definitely some defined clearances for head to bar. My Rally Car item fits inside the Wedge Roof and is fully RAC MSA (i.e. FIA) approved for competition. John from Tarcal who put this one in for me has fitted some Tiv's with Bars (for David Gerald) and can get them approved - Tailor made for £500 - you refit the carpet!!
Cheers,
GB

I agree with Seamus and Stainless and with Nacnud and Jason- the cars look good if kept original but in the case of the later two can be made to look good with a rollbar - personal taste at the end of the day - it probably won't impact resale value either way.

Amusing story from Goodwood FOS. I was told that Lord March was discussing what mods had been made to my SEAC, and was initially undecided about whether my roll bar was original as it looked 'right'. Apparently he commented that it couldn't be original as it was too good!

While I think Jason and I's roll bars suit our Wedges, I haven't seen a single Griff/Chim with a roll bar I like the look of.

You got to meet Lord March - can't be bad. Great event this years Goodwood FOS. Did you see Rod Millen in the Toyota Tacoma and Bjorn Waldergard in the Toyota Rally Car - nutters. Also did you see the Roush AllSports Mustang (625hp GT dominating Race Car). We were lucky to get an invite to bring it to the event - mind it was only our Companies President who got to meet Lord March and the other drivers. Us lowly 420 SEAC types - well - we get left to enjoy the hospitality tents.
It'd be great for the event to be a TVR focus or British Sports car focus one year and maybe you'd get a chance of a blat up the hill.

Yeah - the Ford anniversay got me thinking about excuses for punting a load of Tivs up the hill, it would look and sound great.
Two problems, I think the next TVR 'big' birthday is a fair long way off and looking at the quality of the drivers there I doubt I would get to drive even if my car were accepted

I didn't get to speak to Lord March, only had his words passed on to me. He walked past me though, does that count? It was a top weekend though; Toyota Tacoma got my vote as the best sounding car there. There's shed loads of piccies up on the TVRCC Bristol Website

Great photies. I didn't see the Stratos go up the hill but the pickie shows he's waving so I guess he wasn't really on it! One other guy who went up considerably in my estimation after his 360+ spin on the main straight was Button - Well impressive.

PS: Looked in the blue book a week ago - it's not 6" to the roll bar I think it was 5cm above the head and the head cannot be more than 150cm in front of the bar.

It's almost obligitary to large it up for the crowd on the way up the hill. However, the drivers often wave on their way back down the hill.

Must finish writing that report some time....
