Thought I would share a few pics of some stuff I've been getting together...picked up the shocks now the bushes have been removed and everything else has gone to be shot blasted and to the powder coaters...more on that when I see them!

Radiator which has been fully repaired as new-had a new style electrical thermostat fitted so I can swap the otter to that...

Prop shaft now painted...

Oil valves...

Oil cooler brackets painted, all cleaned...

Filter housing cleaned..

And new clutch arrived! It's updated as I said before so better quality plate but it's got updated double springs which I haven't seen before-nice colours too! smile

I think Vermilion might be a good match for the Koni colour.
Not the 'dog sick orange' I appear to have colour matched to?! wink

So I went to see the chassis and I'm pleased to say that Steve and Rich at southways are doing an excellent job smile

Here is how it looks now....all the welding is done but just needs the weld cleaned up and then it's off to be zinc coated then powder coated in bright red! Getting silly excited about it...I'm such a loser I know but I'm happy thumbup

Nice one Matt! Remember when telling "she who must be obeyed" how much it is all costing , always take of one zero. IE £500 becomes £50! simple! and you stay alive! been using this technique for years. !

LeMans classic here we come!
haha! You have taught me well father! Especially when she hits the roof at the 'SWMBO PRICE'! hehe

Started putting the bushes in and almost all are done except the ones for the upper front wishbones as they need pressing in so have given to a garage to put them in as they wernt cheap so don't want to to them wrong!

Finished the shocks - here are the fronts

Got all the replacement nuts and bolts for all parts:

So, decided to put the diff onto the carrier after I fitted the new bushes - that was THE most difficult part yet! Awkward doesn't come close....did it though! Small fight but I won...her are the scars!

Here it is upside down...

Chassis should be back this week and I've got a package turning up tomorrow with lots of shiny bits... Almost 60 pounds worth wink

Blimey Matt, you lost a thumb ...... a battle royal.... sonar

What about the loom, are you replacing that or sticking with the original?
Ha! Good spot! hehe

All the electrics are staying the same...I'm really lucky with the car as everything works and drove as it should just needed a bit less rust!

That should do you another few years!

I see you had the chassis zinc coated, how does that work? Do they dip it?
Indeed it should! I didn't see the process take place but apparently it is fired at the car through an oxyacetylene gun so it pretty much sprays over the car. You can't dip it as firstly you need to drill holes in every section and also as its old metal it could just bend and twist! You don't actually need to powder coat over it but it makes it pretty!

Looks good matt, but you haven't had the holes drilled for the body to bolt on to.
Hey Blaine! Cheers! The guys didn't drill the holes as they recommend I do them in the new place once the body is on.sounds like hard work to me!!

Well, I've learned that putting all new polybushes in everything, plus new powder coat makes things mighty tight! A lot of banging and swearing later and this is in...

I hoped putting it back together would be more fun curse

Thanks to Phil (billynomates) for all his help on Saturday-although the engine slipped off and tried to kill us (long story) but its back in and bolted up.

Manifolds look great, looking forward to hearing them!

And a under side shot!

Cheers guys...all going well again so im happy - and its a whole lot cleaner putting it back together than it was taking it apart!! yikes

Zig - I do have the old manifolds - I have one (offside) reserved for Ali Reynard although he still needs to collect smile

The other one (nearside) is ready for a new owner! Its an original one so getting a bit thin in places but it did have a spruce up a couple of years back. The first place they go is the flange section which just rust and dissapears. So i had this replaced.

Cheers
