If evryone who wants one brings their own seat, I'll strap my BBQ to the top of the wedge and we'll cook our own grub.

I mean it.

Or maybe the wedge support vehicle could tow a catering trailer?

Beef burger a la morgan.

One cow, boned. Remove hard bits and udder things like that. Shallots, garlic, herbs, tomato sauce and chillie to taste. Make one inch thick patties and cook on a very hot heat for around 6-10 mins pers side. No wishy washy slightly warm heat and keeping warm, serve ina bun.

Next, one lettuce salad. Chop a lettuce up and chuck it in a bowl.

Note, just having a larf, not a pop

Wot abaht a different, new venue, maybe with a circuit or airfield nearby - move it around the country a bit from year to year?

(Ducks behind parapet - prepares for rocket attack.)

I was hoping we would wait until near the end of December but ..

OK - how about this for an idea and pretty firm proposal :

We again hold the event at Ettington Chase - as it's nice and central and they are very accomodating, the car park has a good capacity and the room rates were reasonable.

Just around the corner (10 miles) is a drag race strip called Long Marston : They have a Run What You Brung event on over the weekend of 15th / 16th July (provisional date as yet .. and even this is not public knowledge yet..).

If we hold our event on the Saturday - then we could all troup on round to LongMarston for a nice cheap track day. Cost is something like £10 entry and £20 to race. All you need is a licence and a helmet.

As others may be looking at this - I have taken the liberty of 'pre-booking' the hotel (60 rooms..)

It's possible that other events like the world cup might clash but fans of footie will have to be catered for in the bar.

How does that sound.

Lots of lunched clutches - I cansmell it already!

Nice idea, but I'd still like to see other areas considered - for 2006 or 2007 onwards. I had been thinking of somewhere perhaps in Norfolk (maybe Suffolk)- not bad for people from the Midlands and North and reasonable from the South - also very good for our Continental friends.

If it is near to Snetterton then we might have a chance for a blast around there or a disused airbase.

Maybe even Cambridgeshire.

JJ - you have a good point that I'd like to explore in future years but it sure takes some looking into.

My biggest issue is that it must be a central as possible - then we try to make it a 'free event', good location, some thing for the ladies to do while we kick tyres, cheap race track.

When you get down to it - there are very few places that really fit what is needed.. but that should not stop us trying

I have at least got a cheap race track for this year - even if it is just a drag race track..

If some want to look after their clutches then perhaps they could do rolling starts?

I've done a bit of drag racing and the clutch is the least of your worries..

I broke the flywheel of the engine..

The drive shafts would probably be the weak point of the wedges..

But if you drive it there then most people hold back a little - knowing that that want to drive it home.

My flywheel breaking was caused by too much agression on gear changing and too much traction : running slicks..
