Flame suppressor. Prevents oil vapour igniting in the hose.

Nowhere (mine is the same).

The "sealed" system overflows into the header tank and any excess drains from there. I guess the factory just used a union with a built-in overflow pipe.

A friend of mine bought a 2 year old Chimp last year and was tidying up pipes and cable runs under the bonnet. To his horror, he pulled one coolant pipe, to find that it ended with a hex head bolt poked down the end, clamped in place with a jubilee clip. Obviously upset, he took his pride and joy back to the dealer, who said they were all like it. His look said that he thought he was being fed porkies, so the dealer took him to a brand new Chimp, and pulled the same pipe out, to display another hex head bolt and jubilee clip! It seems that TVR find it cheaper to do this rather than change the plumbing... Everything is possible in TVR world...
