PH SOUTH WALES - BRECON RUN - NOVEMBER 2006
Discussion
Good run out
We headed out of Barry to Jcn 33 about 9.30 and had to turn back and go via Ely, unfortunately I had no way of warning people not to come that way.
All went a bit chaotic at the end trying to find the pub, we followed Ben (Sorrento), who followed someone that wasn't going to the pub . We gave up and headed back home. Still good fun though
Here are some of the pics that I took. I haven't blanked out number plates, if anyone wants them hidden, just let me know.
How many PH'ers does it take to read a map
unexpected visitor
Please don't be offended by the next pic, we only do it 'cos we love the car so much

Looking forward to the next one.

Lunch is for wimps! Headed off with the Boxster in tow to sample the view from the top of the 'Bwlch', follow the canal upto Talybont, then back down along the edge of Talybont and Pontsticill Res. Some of the best views in South Wales and deserted roads.
Thanks Sorrento205 for organising and bring on the Christmas Run!

And a jolly good drive it was to. Managed to get the dash to light up like a Christmas tree a couple of times by the reservoir with the wet leaves. Certainly is stunning around those parts.
Thanks also to Sorrento205 and some nice photos there Firefoot!
(I didn't even see the camera van. Think I was stuck behind traffic most of the way though)

If anything could go wrong it did. Steve shot off down the M4 in his Corvette following the Nissan guy who was heading back to Ireland. Since he knew we were heading for Storey Arms, he must have been asleep! He went home. Meantime, when I got the Mustang out in the morning, the stuck on foglight was hanging down and by Coryton, it was dangling. Luckily I had brought some Velcro so drove into Tongwynlais where I spent a frustrating 10 minutes trying to get the backing off the adhesive! Then it was all guns firing to catch up. I think I braked before the Gatso, I'm not sure but I arrived at Storey Arms not long after everyone arrived.
Then the convoy got broken up 4 of us waited for 15 minutes at the turning to the skinny bridge but pressed on thinking people had gone another way. At Abergavenny, Chris in the TVR suggested a pub lunch but when we got to the pub, no-one else arrived so we decided to call it a day and headed down to the M4.
Chris' Griffith and the Mustang were cogged down for the tunnel at Brynglas and all hell was let loose as we floored the cars through the tunnel. It sounded brilliant.

In hindsight, the kids said they wished they'd have gone on the blat, especially with the Tiv with no roof and the green 'Cars car' as Ieuan put it. Good to meet the early risers, obviously the M4 issue affected some people but the weather ended up being much better than it looked first thing!

i was stuck behind some traffic, but i could see timmers 205 and the crx well ahead so decided to follow. it didnt click that the big pub on the left was probably the intended destination. as such we got caught on the most stupid road ever with nowhere to pullover or turnaround so i gambled to go home rather than turn around and try to catch up. Apart from that, it wasnt bad. Surely we've had as much luck as is possible with the weather now!
Anybody fancy another Jolly in those couple niggly days after christmas instead of just sitting in the house eating all the extra food you bought for the 25th. Perhaps a tunnel run sticking to the main roads avoiding as much grit and slush as possible

Maybe interested in that one.Haha i was following the crx, then he turned off the roundabout to go home so i pulled over turned round and went back into town. Couldnt find anyone and even went in to that big pub's car park but there was knowone around.
As for the xmas run i will be back home in Berkshire, prob just as well as you'll never hear my pathetic exhaust in a tunnel.
