And now she wants to exchange tomorrow and complete on Friday despite the fact we still await information and gas safety inspection cert which she says she will supply "with the correct address" but not mentioning if the issues related to that address of it was an entirely different cert.

Its worse than that. Its in the two main downstairs rooms.

Biggest concern is that when it was fitted one of the rooms had a parquet floor down which SWMBO likes and its probably been damaged by having the gripper rods nailed through it. frown

It's minor issue in the great scheme of things. I'm sure I'll spend many happy hours on my hands & knees whatever the outcome.

Hoping to complete on Friday!

Its very common. Strange how attached people are to things like carpets.
She can't be that attached to the carpet. It only went down a few weeks ago. I think its more that she's a small minded, tight fisted, unreasonable "lady".

Not yet Kris. Waiting for the bank to transfer the funds and hoping for simultaneous exchange and completion tomorrow.

Nipped passed the house this morning after going to the bank to do the CHAPS transfer and its still there!

We won't be able to move in until the removals company can deliver our stuff from storage and at the moment they are being cagey about a date. They haven't committed to anything yet.

Majorly pissed off as the CHAPS transfer hasn't gone through. Banks are fking useless!

ETA: Just spent 30 mins on the phone with the bank tearing a strip off them - Apparently there was a "processing error" at the branch. Or I suspect, to put it another way, someone royally fked up!

Cheers. thumbup

Just collected the keys and waiting for the other half to escape from work so we can go into the new place together.

Unfortunately the removers won't be here until 24th. Time for some cleaning and decorating.

The EA said when I picked up the keys that the vendor had called yesterday to confirm the carpet was removed and ask whether we wanted the carpet gripper removed. Without asking us he told her we did. I wish he'd asked. I wonder what sort of mess they've made of the the parquet removing the gripper rods?

The utility was flooded when they removed the washing machine too apparently.

Oh god! What have we let ourselves in for?

Thanks guys.

Vince - will be in touch to move the stuff from the flat - next week probably.

Ryan - you want to ride shot gun on Sunday?

Phil - If only - we need to be out of the flat quite quickly as landlord has new tenant lined up and he has been so good to us we want to be as helpful as we can.

I shall be in B&Q tomorrow morning buying a second lot of tools that I already have in storage frown as I don;t have access to them.

Not sure the weather is going to hold up for the BBQ by the time we get in there though.

With all our stuff being in storage I have very few tools with me.

We went to the pub in Birch Grove last night for a celebratory beer and just chatting to a few people we have met over the last few weeks and one of them offered the loan of some basic too,d to save me having to buy duplicates of what I already have in storage.

This Wales place is awesome!

Today that damn awful false fireplace is coming out.

Well the fireplace is out - mostly. Just the last quarter to do and the pile of old mortar to dispose of. It was well built!

No Gary, they aren't tiles. That's hideous 1970's lino I was showing. It just happens that the corner was missing.
