The Elan Valley lakes are nice and not as far away as people think
Some narrow twisty roads make it interesting too!

Junction 30 is fine with me. So to confirm, is this 10 am on Sunday 1st October?

Yup. Thread title confused me as it said October 06 but it's the year, not the date.

I think this is a reasonable update on participants so far:

Locoblade
Exige S2
Elise 135
Viper 500
One of a selection of exotica for BobM
Esprit S4
NSX Type R
Cerbera 4.5
BMW M Coupe
TVR Griffith
Supercharged Mustang GT
Corvette C5 Z06
Primera GT or 200SX
Peugeot 205 with photographer
TVR 350i
TVR 400SE
TVR 450i
Porsche 944
Audi TT 225
Subaru WRX
Possibles: Maser Shamal, XJS or Alfa Spider.

Sorry if I've made any maybes definites or vice versa or if I've overcounted. One thing I should raise is the question of dinner because this will be a Sunday when most pubs have bookings for Sunday lunch so 20-30 people walking in demanding lunch may result in a premature ejection. Just something to think about if a meal stop is being designed in. We were lucky last time as there weren't many of us.

Which way you going from there? Anyone (like me) coming from the west might prefer to try to hook up with you further west. Spose it's not far from 32 to 30 anyway ...

Will you be bringing the new acquisition Bob? (I'm also an fcars user!) New car looks great by the way.

would be going to j32 (coryton) and up the a470. its only 4 or 5 miles between the two, but cardiff gate is an easier and nicer place to start from.

This thing is a bit bigger than i was expecting now, and i dont really want to appear a tit by getting us lost. Richo sent me a route which looks good, but i have no idea of the reality of it, so if anybody would like to lead i'll gladly step down. just aslong as we have a good drive and stop to take photos i will be happy cool

Just had another look if you are to start @ j30 and return to there the route i thought of would be about 178 miles / 5 and half hours driving time but of course it could be adjusted. There is also a hotel that does sunday roasts up at elan www.elanvalleyhotel.co.uk/intro.htm and I am sure there are some great photo spots there.

I'm with you sir
and it's the primera as the gearbox/diff has come adrift from the 200, at 90, on the M4.
