PH south wales - brecon run - october 06
Discussion
Well chaps, I'll have to make the next one, as I've just seen my old collegue David Godfrey went along to the last one - so should catch up for a natter.
Additionally, the Golf prefers the wetter slippier weather - gives it a fighting chance against the bigger machinery.
I'll liaise with Gary (SplodgeS4) and arrange to drag a few other South West guys along...

I asked a similar question, we'll just have to be the tail end charlie haha
Also i have my nice new grippy front tyres so like the Golf, i should be able to stick with faster cars in the wet......at least on the bends anyway

I was under the impression that we had fast drive, not a competition.
We (Well I do) do like have a fast drive, however, with only half the power of everyone else, I like to keep up using all of the Golfs abilities.
Theres no competition in it at all, apart from trying to keep some of the bigger machinery honest - something which I'm sure we all enjoy.
I've happily kept pace with all the PH hoons I've attended, and surprised a few with the pace at which my steed can keep. Never seen it as a competition at all, just the ability to drive with like-minded individuals who enjoy driving at the limits they want to drive at (as the SW hoons usually start at 6:30am so clear roads) and stretch the legs of their cars. SplodgeS4 can back me up on the SW hoons
Tail end charlie, I'll never be.

are we any closer to getting a date for the next drive? - anyone?
november 26th is the only really decent date for me, but that doesnt mean it has to be
recent weather has been really been upsetting me, wet roads suck even though ive now got decent tyres all round
i'm up for 26th - who else?

So is it a free for all or are ther classes?
are the lesser powered cars allowed to set off first,
With the supercars leaving last?

think youve got the wrong impression mate!
NOT a race, NOT a competition, NOT an ego boosting free for all.
we decide where we go, we go there, we go home again.

Same as all the other hoons that PH owners decide to organise themselves. (Please note that little bit - as PH is in no way 'organising' or involved in any of these runs - PH is merely a place for people to arrange meets).
There is, however, always (at the owners discretion) a healthy distate for the masses, as it were

i should be able to come ! i will bring the chim ... but i will be taking it easy ! the last run was a nice day out ! i took my MR2 last time and that was ok it kept up on the twistys . but i cracked my exhaust by the end of the day . and had a few moments due to the rear tyers needing replacing. but all the guys that were there were an awsome bunch of chaps. .. and it is "just a drive", as if your going to visit the mother in law ! so you take the long way round ! he he
