A rare Loti might be landing on our Kiwi shores

Car update.........its over at the red tape inspection place once again, getting things ticked off as we speak. Hope to have something in the words of "Its officially coming home"
Had to loosen the seat bolts under the car to lift seats out, this should expose where the seat mounts are attached to or hidden in the body work. A strange ask, but not going refuse. Fingers crossed they accept everything else.

Its coming home today, passed all its inspection points. Ironically I managed to remember slipping the AA card into my bag this morning on the off chance its truly leaving East Tamaki to become a Westharbian - yehaaa!!! Now to make sure its on the motorway before peak hour !

Tsk Tsk Kylie... are you claiming the Lotus is a COMPANY CAR?!?! :P
So it's warranted and complied then? Just got to get it registered now I assume
When you taking me for a spin?!?!!?!??!!?!@%#$%
Believe it or not, despite my username, I've never actually even sat in ANY Esprit... oddly enough because I was determined that my first time would be when I had my own... now that I've given up on that, yours is a prime candidate

Co car well not really lets just say its complicated
Kens taking me to get it registered then load up the boot with old parts I want to keep and a fat invoice to send me on my way. No doubt it will have no gas in it either so theres another hundy gone!!
I thought you sat in Black Beauty?? Arguably the SE models have the nice plush leather interiors etc but the S350 is something else again. Just a warning Esprits are addictive

Don't worry Kylie, I'm too besotted with my little glued-together aluminium cars to be seduced by a wedge.... but who knows what will lay ahead for the future
They are equally cracking cars mate, sorry forgot to say yeah a ride is on the cards, but you know that anyway. Right im off, my next post hopefully shall bear some nice fruit Bye..
Yippeeeeeeeeeeee!! ITS HOME ITS HOME ITS HOME I can’t believe it, its mine and its legal for the road!! Pics will follow as I had to get Simon to rush me back to work to join the guys who promised me some Deutz Champagne to celebrate. Not gonna miss out on bubbles.
So I travelled over to KW and went over the car again what was finished off and a little trouble shooting guide from Ken to find my way around the car, as up till now most of what I have read about the car has all been from scouring Esprit forums for information and reading the manual. Getting to really play with it all gives you a sense of nervousness and really starts to hit home things are really getting serious now. We went to the Onroad testing station and completed the paper work – all good. I was anxious as hell as time was ticking on and it was 2:30pm and we still had to get invoices written up and car ready.
So 2:45pm I left, called into the shell station on High Brook Road and got the usual suspects coming up to me for chat. I was in a rush and had to smile and move on. Proceeded out the Highbrook rd and there was a large gap of no traffic around me and two fat lanes a little blip of the throttle, no traction control and world war III erupted I knew there was an endless supply of power on tap but this was freakish. I ended leaving a black snake up the road and nearly crapped myself! Very very powerful!! The thing is barking mad! I got out on the motorway trying to peel off the cheesy grin on my face to concentrate on what was ahead – Effin building rush hr. It wasn’t too bad and the temperatures weren’t creeping up so this was a true test to see if everything was working well. As expected rubber neckers, kids waving people trying to weave in and get as close as possible, usual story. Finally got onto the North Western and got some space for weave up the highway, it handles and tracks great for something that should be on the race track! Lovely!
I pulled off Hobsonville Rd and half planted the boot forgetting what happened before, holy crap there’s another snake left behind. Simon heard me coming and met me at the bottom of the drive, I had no trouble going over the one speed hump I had to cross and my driveway entrance was fine. Although I am yet to take it down the drive and out. This used to make bbeauty scrape even on an angle.
I just got a call from Simon – where did you put the keys honey? IN MY BAG WITH ME ILL BE HOME SOON - LEAVE IT!!!! Ohhh I was going to wash yr car – yeah right!!!!
Garage pics to follow in a few hrs!
I think I might get sozzled tonight!
BIG BIG BIG congrats Kylie, I know how much you've invested in this (financially and emotionally) and mark my words as someone who's done an identical thing with a different car... NOW is where the good bit starts
Can't wait to see pics and for that ride (might wait til you sober up though! )
