i'm gonna cycle down there in the spring i think once its warmed up a bit as my interest is peaked as to what its (the flora) like now!

when we were chased/followed back to the yeomanry way RB at G Baddow by some bloke talking on a walkie talkie in as he was driving, it rather put me off...as 17/18 yr olds furtive/less accepting/enlightened minds we assumed it was some sophisticated system for the nefarious goings on, but may just have been old bill...
Lolz, not gonna be an issue biggrin

What year would that have been...I'm intrigued now!

I'm good, but thanks for the thought wink

Ahhh, you are a spring chicken; I left school in '88...so maybe the cottaging thing is a relatively recent development biggrin

Ah, I had no idea. I think I drove down there in my XJS when I first moved out this way. A few places you can scrape down there for sure.

Trying to avoid traffic on the way back from Goodwood FOS years ago my dad (with me) managed to take his XJ-S through a very flooded road/farm track. For a relatively low car it copped surprisingly well, although my dad did look rather uncomfortable having committed to the route when it became clear just how flooded & how long the detour was going to be (and there was no possibility of turning round).

They're pretty good to be fair, I've had that one around a farm and driven it through some quite deep puddles with no issue (got a video somewhere where it looks like its fording rofl). When that car was on the road I never worried about driving it in whatever weather, and it was particularly good through standing water with slim tyres with deep tread. Much more careful around puddles with the Vantage, unsurprisingly

Unsurprisingly after the XJS chat I spotted one on the Hutton Industrial Estate earlier - late 4.0 outside Fairmont. Bonus, modded E30 3-Series saloon in the background as well:

Same estate & a S3 E-Type cab outside another garage and this cool SWB W463 M-B G-Glass (apologies for crap photo):

Nearby, on Chelmsford Road, Shenfield & a black R-R Wraith and a red Lotus Esprit (X180).

There is often a few interesting cars on that estate, even on the opposite side to Fairmont.

Yes, the “other” garage was where the E-Type was w/ the G-Wagon opposite. There’s usually a couple of Jags there, often E-Types, plus there’s the Porsche specialist & Fairmont have a couple of other storage units/workshops.

Looking at Fairmont’s Insta, that XJS is available @ £16k.

Another one this morning, and a surprise given the weather: Lancia Beta Coupe (with Martini stickers) on Parkway in Chelmsford.

Yesterday pm & a black Challenger Hellcat passing Colchester's ground on the A12 and a little later (Suffolk) a blue '68 Mustang cab; also on the A12.

Edited (x2) to add: grey Lotus Eletre on Parkway in Chelmsford late morning today (Sun), first one I've seen & a cool, grey Triumph 2000 saloon outside Halfords at the retail park.

White Granada MKII & a silver M-B SL (R107) on Moulsham Street & a dark green Range Rover (P38) 4.6 HSE around the corner on Anchor Street in Chelmsford early pm. Mentioned the Rangie as I can't remember the last time I saw a standard looking P38 on the road.

No. That's Little Baddow Ford - https://maps.app.goo.gl/wWEQnD31AFLPCf1HA
It's not surrounded by trees nor does it have marker posts.
The one in the pics is Danbury Ford on Sporhams Lane - https://maps.app.goo.gl/yt4tp2U9FfFkAv1T7
