Spotted Jason Ross just now in Chelmsford. Trailer was empty which could have been a double spot.

Anyone here drive a red 458 in the Strood/Wainscott area?
Keep seeing one go up and down my road, and the other day it was parked on the driveway of a local house next to a white 911 which is always there (and which I oggle over when walking the dog).

Anyone here? Lovely car, but I can't understand why you just drive it up and down the road all day, unless you're giving passenger rides...in which case, can I have one please tongue out

Awesome car - although it would be good of the owner to actually MOT the vehicle!
He may have an awesome and amazing car, but he still needs to MOT it!

Great spot.

Is it not MOT exempt at that age though?

Is any car MOT exempt?! I thought even very, very old cars have an MOT, even if it is the equivalent of checking that it still has a steering wheel and an engine.

Rules changed a little while back AIUI, although it's nothing something that I know much about. Below is from the DVLA's site:

8. Vehicles that don't need an MOT
You don’t need to get an MOT for a vehicle that hasn’t reached the age its first MOT is needed.

Exempt vehicles
Other vehicles that don’t need an MOT include:

cars and motorcycles made before 1960
goods vehicles powered by electricity
tractors

On his way to the MOT station? (Hopefully).

He might find it creepy that/how we know, but if anyone knows the guy, they should put a discreet note through his letterbox, as I doubt the lack of MOT is deliberate.

Out of interest what makes you think that?
Definitely the real deal.

TurboTerrific, assume it is yours?

Beautiful car.

Top work TT; beautiful car.

Couple more for me this am. New shape black R8 in Wickham Bishop's near Witham in Essex and a white Gallardo spyder coming into Witham little later on. Also a mean looking & sounding black '60's black Chevy pick-up on the A12, Colchester bound.

TT not trying to come across as a weirdo or stalker but are you reasonably local to the area as I'm struggling to get my head around the fact that someone with a SWB lives local to me, it's my all time favourite car and that's the only one I've ever spotted actually on the road and not at a show.
Absolutely superb garage by the way.

In Brewster motors in Billericay today to get a quote for a new door mirror on our VW Up (£260!! but even more at VW! So expensive for a small car) but in the back I saw a beautiful Ford GT being worked on!

Maclaren MP4 12C parked on a drive in biggin hill (on the hill heading up for the roundabout)

Red Ferrari 458 on Hayes lane and a black Lamborghini vert on Widmore road heading toward Bromley - all this eve between 7 and 8:15

Oh and a red mid-90's mustang on skid hill lane

Oh it's Gavin's. Reason I said that was that rear lights looked like those on a replica Terry Hoyle built 18 years ago. That car was based on a GTE and I last saw it driving down London Wall last summer.

But thanks to the power of PH a certain car now has an MOT!

Great turnout at the Maldon Motor Show today! Some very nice cars including a 1969 Ferrari 365GT 2+2, a Ferrari F40 and a ton of E Type Jags, Ford Mustangs (all ages) and lots of VW Splitties. Anyone else there from the forums?

wavey After a fiasco and huge traffic problems getting in, it was a great show. Never been before and can't believe how big it was. The weather was also great, I think pretty much every Essex classic was there! smile

It was also my first time there! It was huge and had a great variety of cars! I got there about 10:15 and the traffic coming in wasn't bad at all then and found a space with ease! When my friend and I went to get lunch walking up the high street there was a huge amount of traffic and there were no parking stewards then! The field was very chaotic and bumpy, I did end up scraping the bottom of the bumper of my car eek but it was luckily dirt so no scratches and its plastic so no dents! biggrin
