Driving around Texas.....................

Probably going to see a friend who lives just outside Dallas in about 6 weeks or so. Was thinking about then flying to the west coast and spending a bit of time there.

Then I thought about staying in and arund Texas and finding the real america, the one with all the old towns and ghost towns.

Anybody had any experience of this ? Is it worth spending time there or best to go elsewhere ?

Think I might hang around Texas, sounds like my sort of place !! Don't mind the space and distance of driving , quite like the solitude and open spaces that a road trip offers.

Just booked up my flights so i'm on my way !! (well nearly)

Staying at a friends over Easter in Plano so hopefully get to see a few things around Dallas before picking up a car for a couple of weeks. Then heading off for a bit of a road trip to see the sights in and around Texas.

Damn !! Its the weekend before Easter that Nascar hits texas !! They do go to Phoenix mid April so might have to put my foot down a bit and change my route

Cheers !! I'll check with my mate - he does talk about a sports bar he goes to which is where all the shops are so could be one of those. Only a couple of weeks away now
