Easy to solve that one.

Everyone pays for their meal into a kitty in the centre of the table, as they order.

Any drinks ordered on top of that also have the money chucked into the kitty as they are ordered.

End of the night - job done smile

It's a good idea in principle, however what's the chances that everyone will have enough change / money for that... and how will it work for the buffet stuff that was brought over for everyone etc.

I'm always a fan of, eat, drink be merry then split the bill equally between everyone, however that's just me hehe

So long as Ali handles the maths I don't give a hoot!

Now if I can convince Cat that my car isn't as scary as it looks I may get her to drive back. thumbup

We need to tell people that this is the way it is going to work smile

If we can get a menu it helps that we way say (eg) starter = £5 main = £10 No arguments, so if you have both you chuck in £15.

I'm in complete agreement with you, but then we both drink like fishes, for those that don't.......... it can be a bit unfair hehe

hehe

That's not really going to work with chinesse though is it? Or are we all having out own little portion of duck and pancakes and not sharing any dishes / rice etc. rofl

Ah, I'm not fussed, I didn't even mind paying the amount I did last year, was a top night out.

yes It still works. The theory is still the same, if not easier - you just say £x per head for food - that bit of it is the easy part, the hard part is the drinks, and remembering to chuck an appropriate amount into the Kitty when you order some smile

Trust me wink

If someone gets me a copy of the menu, I'll mail everyone with a suggested price per head that will sort the food out.

Ali - the food is a fixed price (£17.99 IIRC) - eat as much as you like/can.

It's the drink that's the problem yes

Well its a set meal price anyway Ali, I think the issue was people chucking money in and leaving but not realising how many drinks people had bought at that time. By the time we were left with about 10 die hards, the bill had mounted up alot more. hehe

yes It generally is frown

I'm with Ben, I'm happy to pay a split, but there are generally people in a group that are not drinking and who do not think that fair - trick is to sort those 'troublemakers' (wink JOKE!!) out beforehand (ie now).

One that I found worked well was that non drinkers paid £5 for their drinks all evening, and the 'drinkers' covered the rest between them. Although, I STILL had problems with my particularly 'tight mate' who insisted that she had only drunk tap water, which is free, so shouldn't have to pay anything rolleyes She also had scrounged a lift (so wasn't driving) AND drank 2 glasses of wine!

She wasn't invited out the next time hehe

Story of a scrooge!
Sounds just like my younger sister that does!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a tight arse (shut up charlie!) its just last time was a little too expensive for me but if I had been at the drink I wouldn't have given a damn.
