It's a good idea in principle, however what's the chances that everyone will have enough change / money for that... and how will it work for the buffet stuff that was brought over for everyone etc.
I'm always a fan of, eat, drink be merry then split the bill equally between everyone, however that's just me

We need to tell people that this is the way it is going to work I'm always a fan of, eat, drink be merry then split the bill equally between everyone, however that's just me
If we can get a menu it helps that we way say (eg) starter = £5 main = £10 No arguments, so if you have both you chuck in £15.
I'm in complete agreement with you, but then we both drink like fishes, for those that don't.......... it can be a bit unfair

Ali - the food is a fixed price (£17.99 IIRC) - eat as much as you like/can.

I'm with Ben, I'm happy to pay a split, but there are generally people in a group that are not drinking and who do not think that fair - trick is to sort those 'troublemakers' ( JOKE!!) out beforehand (ie now).
One that I found worked well was that non drinkers paid £5 for their drinks all evening, and the 'drinkers' covered the rest between them. Although, I STILL had problems with my particularly 'tight mate' who insisted that she had only drunk tap water, which is free, so shouldn't have to pay anything She also had scrounged a lift (so wasn't driving) AND drank 2 glasses of wine!
She wasn't invited out the next time
