However pete clearly needs to give a watercooled bit of pork a go and I reckon the 996 C4S is a good shout! (maybe because it's the one I like).
If i ever bought a watercooled 911 it would have to have a 964 bottom end. That means GT2, GT3, or turbo.
Like the Noble idea since it's not a daily driver.
Didn't like the M3 CSL because of the bleedin' SMG II. Plus i already drive a 3 series every day.
Monaro would be a good daily driver but not special enough for "occasional use".

So far it's keep my 911, or switch to an Aero 8, or a GT3, or a Noble M12.
Nothing wrong with SMG 11!
Nothing at all..... except as I understand it, Pete is heterosexual.

I've yet to do the Porsche thing although having been in a 996 GT3 RS I was very impressed. However, I have to put a shout in for the Noble, especially if it's for occasional use. The handling and acceleration of an M400 is pretty addictive.
This from the man with the Mosler? biggrin

Maybe it's time to consider another option.
1. 964 turbo, aka RUF RCT EVO (one of my all time dream cars)
or
2. 964 turbo, aka "Bad Boys" car

Hi Pete,

If you've driven an M6 in anger you wouldn't say it's too heavy and it handles a bit neater than the saloon with which peeps commonly compare it.

I'd also back the Sagaris outsider as a curvey balled option: frankly, even if the worst happened, I'm reliably informed by TVR's very own Gaffer the antidotes are readily available and via the NHS, not just BUPA.

This only slightly enthusiastic TVR femme rolled up for a party box of Quavers over The Yule and before I could utter the Wheeler traction mantra {"it's yer right foot, lad!"} I was tip toe-ing the said Gafferlogical Protogaris around the block thinking 'yes, this is an involving vehicle.'

They seem to command a premium based on sheer rarity, thus I doubt you'd do your petits pois so why not dig out the Old Spice, adorn yo' self with gold finery and rip, gargle, belch and generally scream forth?

There's every need to reacquaint yourself with automotive brutality.
