Hey hey,
Well that was embarassing. The engine had been a bit more noisy than usual this week but I thought hey it's french so carried on. Was fine for the most part until it let go. Had great fun though, especially on the country roads! Pics look good. Glad to have met you all and cheers for asking after us!
This may be a perfect time to sling an MI16 engine in there until I can afford a better car.
Cheers again, I intend to be up and running asap!
Tim.
That's the spirit, an MI16 would be ace! Best of luck with it all Well that was embarassing. The engine had been a bit more noisy than usual this week but I thought hey it's french so carried on. no problem
what car were you in?
I was the guy right in front of you with the blue astra. ;-)what car were you in?
Truthfully, with it being my first time I was a bit nervous about keeping up in an Astra, but there was such a mix of cars and everyone was so friendly/helpful that I felt right at home. I know not all car groups are quite so open-minded so a huge thanks to you all from a newbie! Keep it up!

@ Fraser - your son was very cool, and I'm sure he's a hooner in the making. Also, now we can call Nathan's Porsche Sally from now on, which is a bonus

It was good to have you along, you seemed to be doing fine to me, as you were almost always glued to my tail. I hope I wasn't holding you up too much (and y2 and kiwi) on the A4 at the end, as the Suzuki was giving all it had

I was impressed at how much go that little suzuki had! I assume it isn't standard?@ Fraser - your son was very cool, and I'm sure he's a hooner in the making. Also, now we can call Nathan's Porsche Sally from now on, which is a bonus
Likewise, the integra in front of you was holding its own as well!

Anyone else see anything stupid on the run this morning??????? (re: Kinky's post). I must have missed it at the back, as everyone looked safe and sound in front and behind me (Y2K, Identti, Pernod, MikeITR...).
I agree with you, although I was part of the same back markers as the rest of you.kiwifraser said:

Great run today guys - splendid cars and care well taken by all given the conditions!!
Good route too Robbie - my concerns about it being a series of A roads and potentially boring was completely unfounded.
Thanks John, it was partly Nathan's choice - he just showed me the roads and I chose the one's that I liked. I thought the plains may be all straights, but I thought the roads were fantastic, with a good variety of sweepers and altitude changes. The fact that you can see for miles ahead makes safe overtaking far easier to achieve too.Good route too Robbie - my concerns about it being a series of A roads and potentially boring was completely unfounded.

P'ah! New RS6's are positively whispering compared to some of the older ones...
(NOT that I'd ever drive it in a way that would make it noisy or detrimental to small roadside mammals... )
When you arrived at the meet location it sounded excellent John. Making good use of 1st gear I presume?(NOT that I'd ever drive it in a way that would make it noisy or detrimental to small roadside mammals... )
I can't help thinking the GTR won't sound quite as good, although you do now have the Tiv

Need JohnD to give me a lession in RS clio driving, as its totally different to the Tuscan, and I like the Tuscan more in the wet right now!
Just thrash the nuts off it. Keep the revs above 4k to make progress. Drive it on the nose. Remember the back end is quite lively on the brakes and throttle adjustable.Gassing Station | Thames Valley & Surrey | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
