My friends house in Calcot was broken into on Monday night. They stole his MacBook Pro, his wallet, his wife's iPhone 3 and most importantly his Ford Focus ST3 Reg no: RK59 XUS.

Blue with double white stripes across the bonnet, roof & boot. No side stripes or text (see pic below).
Not much else to identify it externally but it was fully loaded with most available options though most of these are only visible inside so won't help much with identification.
There was a child seat in the car at the time and the seats & carpets are loaded with golden retriever hair which was hard to remove (though no doubt a pro could get it clean no problem).

As usual it's the little things that have upset him the most i.e. his keyring that was a gift to him from his as yet unborn daughter, his daughters favourite cuddly toy that was in the child seat...

It's a ring from which you hang keys...

Oh, you mean the gift from a person who hasn't been born yet thing! I think it was actually from his missus, some sort of sentimental thing, something their family do.

I'll keep an eye out for it, they usually end up round our way, I take it no sort of tracking device on the vehicle?
I wouldn't expect to see it again in one piece, if at all frown

No tracker. Probably an alarm but they had the keys so that's no use.

If you can, stick the details on here and I'll look out for it. We spend most of our night shifts out hunting the stolen cars. We stand more chance in keeping up with an Impreza and Focus ST than the current RS4's and 6's that we keep seeing......for about 30 seconds.

Favourite quote from the last night shift "...behind the vehicle, its failing to stop....God that's quick"

Hmm sounds familiar...

"We were about to stop you but the next thing we saw were your tail lights dissapearing into the distance..."

It's a fair cop officer...

"So you will accept the 3 points & £60 then"

Where do i sign...

Since i've posted a stolen up i've been reading through some of these threads. Amazed how many cars are taken, sickening. Read one the other day where the car was eventually located after the tracker was activated...in China. Seems many end up in crates and the trackers don't emit a decent signal or some such?

Hope your mate get his car back, can empathise with the sentimental side too.

I saw something on BBC news this monring and was quite shocked at the number of cars nicked. "Only" about 100k stolen last year which is a massive drop compared to a few years ago. The worrying thing is that most that are stolen are from burglaries.

Sounds daft but might be worth putting it out on Facebook and getting friends to ask there friends etc. I know it was a bit more distictive but I've heard that FB awareness helped track down the Scooby nicked from Santa Pod at the weekend.
