You will really need some sort of cover for the car. You might get away with the frost shield type of elasticated PVC cover that fits over just the roof of a "normal" car (try Argos or Halfords). Personally I'd be looking for a more substantial tailored car cover. The worst leak path is the leading edge of the doors and all around the side screens. Electrics shouldnt be a problem but soggy carpets almost certainly will be. Major manufacturers spend a fortune developing leak proof soft tops but the kitcar industry cant match that sort of investment.

Slight O/T - but I'm amazed that more of them (any of them?) haven't used style in the the later Elise S2s. Simple to use and install - but it does need a fixed roll hoop for the mechanism so not that good looking or possible on all cars, but a good starting point.

As for keeping one outside - that's the reason I didn't get one in the end, so I moved to a house with a garage and now I don't have the cash
