Not half as sorry as me, I'm sure. They've offered me £5280, which I told them was a bit of a joke, given that higher mileage, same-age examples are going for £6000-£6300 on Autotrader. I'm going to dispute the valuation anyway.

I'm going to see if they'll let me buy it off them. The engine runs, and the interior is pristine. If I can buy it for a reasonable price, I'll probably break it myself!

A Ford dealer offered me £7500 p/x against a £31k titanium X sport! Keep in mind it has done 3.5k miles and has every factory option. Tossers. Apparently no one wants then any more!

This thread must not die.

So how are ST220 values holding up then as they appear to have taken a battering in the books.

You can pick up a facelift, with 80k-100k on the clock for £3000. Seriously tempting.

Yes it would suck for it to die especially as I've only just started owning one!  Really enjoying it. The 3.0 duratec engine is a class act.

According to Glasses, mine has gone up in value £20 this month, still only worth £1900 trade in though LOL (53 plate with 102k)

Crikey, i'd snap their hand off.

I've been offered £2200, at three dealers, for an '04 with full Ford Service history and 60k on the clock.

Only one person has offered me £3200, and that's against a Volvo which needs a service costing £1200! rofl

I've been trying to sell my ST220 for a while now, not had much interest at all, is it because of the engine size and fuel bills that scare people?

Mine does 28mpg daily driving and 35 on a run, has all the toys and is in lovely condition, I thought £3500 was a sensible price, are they really not worth much anymore?

Seems they're worth sweet FA now. Apparently everyone wants small engined turbo diesels. For this reason, I've deicded to run mine into the ground...

That has been my thinking of late too....I'm not letting it go for peanuts that's for sure.

I'm inadvertently running mine into the ground, because I'm too fat and complacent to bother changing it.

How reliable is the 3.0 lump with a few years/miles under its belt?

Looking last week I noticed a few 3.0 Titanium and Ghia models that were even cheaper than the already cheap ST220.

The most reliable engine Ford (Porsche?) have ever produced? Plently of them in the states with 300k+ on them. Mine is on 102k and still goes round the Nurburgring ok, its whisper quiet and normal driving returns 31-34mpg average per tank.

Mine has been ok, one or two problems, but most issues arent directly with the engine itself.

Mine's a spritely youngster with "only" 72k on it. Felt fresh again after the big 70k service.

Mine has done 95k and is as fresh as a daisy, it doesn't use any oil or water and sounds silky smooth.

Sounds good, not 100% convinced I want a Mondeo but at the price/performance ratio currently they are too good to ignore.

If you're looking at the V6's then I would DEFINITELY spend the extra on the ST220, it's worth it for the Recaro's alone.

Not looking to buy in a hurry but was shocked at how cheap they were, prompted by spotting a very nice spec Ghia in a local main dealer that looked cheap. They are certainly on the list but I have also noticed that 220s have now fallen into the hands of people who you probably don't want to buy a car from.

Im the opposite. The seats in the ST have made me hate leater, full stop. Next car needs to be cloth. The recaros are uncomfortable, especially on the leater seem that runs left to right, just under your shoulder blades.
