Originally the car was meant to have a 6.5 litre V10, from what I can recall!
I doubt it, otherwise it would have been called the Speed 10

There was a V10 considered at about 5.5 litres but I'm not aware that it got any further than consideration.

That spec changed.....75 degree V12? nope. Aluminium block? nope, steel block. How old is the spec sheet? Originally the car was meant to have a 6.5 litre V10, from what I can recall!

I saw a cerbera speed12 last week,it was under a dust cover but it's front end was sticking out and i knew straight away what it was. Had a chat with the owner it's part of a private collection of about 40 cars, very nice chap he's invited me back on friday to have a look at the rest of his collection. My jaw hit the floor when i saw it, parked next to it coverd in dust was a ferrari daytona spider and a black left hand drive miura with french plates on it. Because i was so overwelmhed by it all i didn't ask if the speed12 was just a bodyshell or a complete car but i will ask on friday. I will also take my camera but not sure if he will allow me to take picture or not.

It looked like it was black but the light wasn't that good , although it was under a dust cover it was coverd in layers of grime. Will find out more on friday

Intriguing news. I expect it may be a bodyshell, but if it's a car with an engine that's even better news (if it is it'll throw a bit of a spanner into the works, I was told there were only two engines left, one in W112BHG and the other in a crate somewhere, it's for sale too). Whereabouts did you see this Cerbera Speed 12? Please get some pics!

This car is currently on display at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu and stands between at Ferrari F40 and Ford GT40. It makes these two icons look tame and draws more interest from visitors than either.

It was going to, but in the end it had the engine out of a Metro with added forced induction.

No, wait...

What do you mean when you say 'fabricated block'? I've heard this before and I've never really understood what it means.....

Most blocks are cast; the S12 block was welded together because it was such a short production run. John R presented a paper on it.

Ahhh, is that why John was telling me a couple of engine blocks became twisted? There's a Speed 12 engine for sale somewhere, it needs a bit of work, but it would work. I can't remember where it's for sale though....someone should buy it and do something with it!

S12: What?! Standing still and not race the streets!?

Phoenix: now that was a huge laugh (when PH was utterly funny).
