Besides a five year break I used to have an Astra but now have a Griff 500.

The astra was an H reg GTE 16v which was great fun but suicidal going round corners when putting your foot down in the wet, the Griffith is.......

Back to drawing board, borrowed £**,*** from bank against house, bought Griff, sold house, paid loan back. Bought canal barge.
Scruff,

More details on the barge please (used to live on one myself)

Corrado VR6 - utterly brilliant car, but a brand new Chimaera sorted out any regrets!

'94 Calibra 4x4 Turbo - at the time of sale ('end of 95) it was Anthracite black with gold BBS alloys (same as it left the factory), it's probably now gone all "fast-n-furious" in Bromley or Croydon with spoilers and skirts, neon and 3-spoke 19 inch wheels...

Swapped my brand new Audi TT 225 for a Cerb - the TT was extremely dull.

I cannot see me owning anything else in the foreseeable future other than a TVR - in fact I should have sorted out my Tamora/Tuscan quandry very soon and be on my second asap.

I didn't. I just saved up for a long, long, long time. I had to sell my beloved 1986 Sierra Cosworth, though, 'cos I didn't have garage space for both, or enough money to buy the Chimaera and build another garage.

I traded an 11 yr old Vauxhall Cavalier SRi with 137,000 miles and no hub caps. Yarnolds gave me £300 against my first pre cat Griff.

Top car that was. no, really!

Marco

Not bad Marco, but beat this:

My previous 'old faithful' was a 1984 Rover 213 with 72bhp (allegedly), front wheel drive with 172k miles on the clock - unbelievably reliable.
Needless to say the Chimaera 450 scared me....a lot! until terminal velocity and then...

2002 Mercedes C32 AMG - Absolutely hated it, the most unreliable car I have ever owned - maybe it was preparing me for TVR ownership but the Tiv has been fantastic!

yeah - I'd quite like to hear about it too - I'm currently looking into buying a company that makes narrow boats (well fits out the shells), subject to finance and no-one else buying first of course.

Sold my gorgeous MG race car (and haven't seen it racing since!), sold my Brain James trailer to a Caterham championship winner and p/ex'd my Golf GTi 16v . That lot covered most of the cost of the Tiv .

A kind lady in a Fiesta forgot to cancel her indicators, allowing me to wreck the front of my 1972 Mercury Montego GT....351 cu inch, or 5.8 litres of Ford V8. Fortunately body and chrome stuff for it are all but impossible to find, so got a good insurance payout! The S.2 followed shortly after. Now got a 350i....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Rover 820 Coupe. What a dog - loved new head gaskets and rear main oil seals. Made the Cerbera maintenance costs seem a bargain

Mark II MR2 Turbo. TVR dealer wouldn't part ex as it was an import. Bought the Chim 450 and kept the MR2. Great car, very quick and handled pretty well. Embarassed a few unsuspecting boxters, scoobies etc...

Had to sell as insurance was extortionate (half as much again as the Chimaera), do miss it though.

Didn't trade anything in, just bought it straight cash

It was supposed to replace my Spitfire, but that is still with me at the moment.
