What a bloody awful thing to happen. The S looked stunning in the car park at the meeting.

People who do this kind of thing are sad and disturbed individuals, I fear there is nothing that can be done to help them!! Maybe removal of certain parts of their anatomy would make them think twice but I doubt that thinking is one of their strong points.

Bl**dy hell! I can only imagine how you must have felt when you found your pride and joy in that state!!

There were so many great cars parked in the road on Thursday night I'm ashamed to say I didn't even get round to looking in the car park. Wish I had now.

Have you asked the police if any similar incidents were reported in your area? We had a phantom tyre slasher a few weeks ago (missed mine out luckily), but because he did several cars in neighbouring streets it could be put down to some rampaging head-case. If yours was the only one targeted that's a pretty nasty calculated attack and there could be a motive other than "why should he have a better car than me?"

Bloody hell this is just terrible

I Kinda understand some drunken jealous yob maybe putting a key along a car on his way home from the pub, Dont Agree but shit happens like that.

But for someone to pour paint stripper over your pride and joy is just outrageous. It seems to me that they went out there way to do that, maybe you have been waking a nieghbour up when starting up in the mornings etc and pissed them off. Can you think of anyone you may of upset recently, told some kids off for playing ball near your car or something.

Sad to hear that

BB

It's mad that someone actually went out of their way to take paint stripper to your car!!!....as BB says, it's not an opportunist arseholes envy...but a PRE-MEDITATED act.....how sad is that?

Sorry to here this, but don't blame the BiBs for not being able to do anything... if you can't give them any clues and there's no other evidence, there's little can be done at the moment.
It's a sad state of affairs when some arse does this sort of thing and the feeling you're being targetted is difficult to shake.
It's happened to me - been targetted by a scrote and his mates who I'd dealt with for car thefts. Bastards used to follow me home. Lost my temper one time, stopped, grabbed a crook lock (appropriate device me thinks) and broke every bit of glass in his max muppet Escort Cossie lookalike 1.3L. He was so scared he didn't even think to drive away. Didn't have any trouble again, but felt sick for weeks thinking that I could have lost me job or worse.

Point is don't get involved - if you find something out pass it on to the police...please!

Best of luck

All that I feel about this has been said more eloquently by others here. What goes around does come around though - one way or another they will get their comeuppance.

Take care and make sure you post piccies after you get her back - we want to see how lovely she turns out!

Ive heard it`s tricky to repaint glass fibre after it`s had paint stripper soaked in

Tony's right I'm afraid. I've seen the results of paint stripper used on the GRP deck of a boat by someone who should have known better. It had taken a layer of resin off with the paint. And that stuff was left in puddles on your car for several hours...Don't let them do a simple fill and re-spray. They will need to get rid of all traces of paint stripper and damaged GRP first. Hope all goes well!

This is probably stating the obvious now after what's happened, but for anyone out there restoring their car - never use chemical paint stripper on a TVR!

Gutted for you mate, I know how you feel, happened to me back in the late eighties with my then pride and joy.....!!

Some people just dont like to see others with nice things!!! And do the police care........Do they ! They are only interested in catching speeding motorists....! vandals/real criminals etc.... dont make them money!

Unfortunately Mike, proof is needed to proceed with criminal prosecution.
This isn't the Police themselves, its the law.
If there isn't proof to arrest an offender, what can be done. I assume there were no witnesses to the crime? If there were then statements need to be taken, and scrotes arrested.
Don't get me wrong, I am up there with the rest of you, I would like nothing better than stringing them up for things like this.
Rank and file officers like nothing better than nicking scrotes for crimes such as this.
I really hope you fix it bridgav.
Mike

That's awful. What a mess. Do you have any good contacts around the area that you ask to keep their ears open for someone talking about this? People are never very good at keeping this sort of thing quiet so they have probably told someone who might tell someone else etc.... Usually down the pub. Maybe go and ask the landlords to keep their ears open for you.

It may not produce results but atleast you are doing something to try to stop it happening again.

I would definately consider a CCTV system if you are going to have to keep it outside for much longer.
