Nice job!
I can't help thinking that if TVR had taken this route instead of pushing ahead with their own chocolate engine, they might still be in business today.
Totally agree on both, from a guy that has seen hundreads of engine transplants i have to say it nice to see that someone has taken the time to make engine bay look proper, not loads of jubilee clips holding pipes together etc...! very nice job there sirBoosted Cerb said:
Just how Cerb's should of been
Absolutely right imo. I can't help thinking that if TVR had taken this route instead of pushing ahead with their own chocolate engine, they might still be in business today.

Indeed...so no point in the 'purists' getting sniffy.
TVR evolution and ownership has always been about daring to be different.
The Griffith era was subtly different. Jack Griffith took out a non TVR engine and fitted another. In this case, a TVR engine has been removed to install a non TVR engine. But I would add that in both cases, the results in terms of performance, were stunning. TVR evolution and ownership has always been about daring to be different.
Signed...a sniffy purist.
edited to add JG put a SBF (289 hi-po) into a Grantura, not a Chevvy if I'm not mistaken.

Can I ask how much you think this coversion costs in total?
Parts £ wise - know you did the labour yourself .... which you have done a fantastic job of !!

So once you've finished the porsche and the weeding you'll be looking for another project then? Fancy popping one of them in a Griff? Childs play surely after that?
I'll leave it in the drive and pop the keys in the flower pot.
Pick it up once it's finished Tuesday week? Smashing.
Kudos sir.
Very nice indeed.

'ello Jon, you must be missing yours although no doubt you've got enough to keep you busy.
Just finished wiring the traction control, will be setting it up the weekend.
Haven't got in touch with Duncan and Paul yet since its been on the road but will do soon. I owe them a drink or two.
Finished the dials and TC install
With the TC should be able to open it up with a bit of confidence, bit scary at the moment, done about 250miles so far, got over most of the teething problems, so hopefully happy motoring.
Would love to do a Griff, I really enjoyed doing the conversion shame the house and wife got in the way I don't know, you build a triple garage and your wife fills it up with a pretend beetle

Hope you are keeping well and catch up soon.

Not missing mine too much (I did well in 4 years of the crazy thing to never get a point or a ban). Would be nice on the occasional Sunny sunday blast (but not seen much of that lately). Think an SC on the Purple Monster would be pushing it a bit. Much shorter wheelbase (than the Cerb) and 245 tyres. I bet you will need the TC Rich as I think you can only easily get 255 or maybe 265 rubber on the std wheels (and it looks really nice with the Spiders). I did like a alot of the sideways stuff though - keeps you sharp.
My engine is progressing in the US hoping for about what Rich has when install and a bit more on the dyno. Will 200kg lighter than the Chim and maybe 300 less than the LS Cerb with a wheelbase (I think) 3 or 4" less even than the Chim!
Oh for a 3 car garage! Give my regard to Paul Mitch glad you are enjoying it (hope you got some new rear boots).
