Quite agree with Mike - Surplus money, SHOULD go to the workers and families, not in this case a charity.
Mike - I'm worried you put the forecast on here yesterday, it's changing!!! You're tempting fate mate!!! I want it sunny!!!

Out of the 356 people signed up, how many have actually made a donation? This is not a Sunday Jolly.

Donation made............agree with the idea of surplus money going to workers and not charity.

shout Roll Up, Roll Up

There has been an overwhelming request to ensure that any surplus funds raised, after covering the costs of workers' transport and refreshments on the day, remain with the workforce rather than a charity. This event being entirely democratic will naturally ensure that this does happen. A worker's Christmas party has received several "votes", as have vouchers, BUT WHAT SURPLUS?

At this rate, there will be very little, if anything left over after Sunday.

If you do wish to make a donation, and it is by no means compulsory, please do so here:

Many thanks for your continued support, let's make it a day for the workers to remember.
Cheers
David

I wonder if useful to set a fund raising target and display progress.

Hi all,

Chipped in a few quid to help. Still hoping to make it on Sunday in spite of immense pressure from senior management to do something sensible (ie finish painting the bathroom - I started on it in August).

All best.

Right, I will be making a donation but I have also approached my employer who are a UK airline to see if they would provide some flexible airline tickets for a raffle either at the Ace cafe or on here with proceeds going to the fund.

I hope this would be of interest and am keeping my fingers crossed they will help. The question is do any of you work for companies who may be able to do something similar? It seems to me that shops could offer vouchers, supermarkets could offer hampers, Halfords could offer car care products etc, Sony could offer an MP3 player etc etc. Lets face it those families and their children aren't going to have much of a Christmas so lets do something about that.

Just a thought,

Saxon
