I will agree to pay an extra £25 this year, because there are many personnel changes afoot in the committee I will get some value.

I confess I am interested in Capri brake drum sources etc and I have a beard and cardigan which I wear when driving my Audi.

I'll give the club another year's subscription, and see what I get from it.

Good man Nubbin
Nice to see you again , if only briefly at BNG
Were going to tantilise your taste buds this coming year!

I was quoted out of context, and I will not be resigning! Mmmm, taste buds, food, beer, wine, headaches...

Fer chrissakes! It's an extra fiver - if you drive a TVR I daresay you can afford it! No increase for the past 3 years and no increase planned for the next 2.

This is a fine example of Parkinson's 2nd Law!

It's not about the money, it's about value and justification
But then I'm lucky I can sit back for 7 months see if it gets any better and vote with my Mastercard then
Must say I loved the little dig on P2 of Sprint, who dares me to wear a PH shirt on Sunday

Springbok - uninformed drivel? This site is for serious discussion and banter (right Ted?)

We are merely discussing here whether the extra fiver is providing good value for money - some think so, some not.

With regard to the £5k for Le Mans - Asked by TVR or not - if the club had refused, then so what? TVR cannot sell their cars without publicity, and my guess is a lot of this comes from the club - Cool relations between factory and car club? What purpose would it serve?

Then perhaps we should be better informed?

Peter O'Connor's were about people's reactions to Mania, not to this thread.

So let's stop this public bikkering and pull together and make things better.

I would also suggest that many of you should read the rules of posting on this site.

And please do not bother coming back to me as I will not discuss TVRCC business further on this thread.

Oh......... and please vote for me. I've heard better sales pitches I must admit.

I also agree with Nubbin. For a national club to have it's AGM in Kent is a little bit of an up yours to those who wish to attend and don't happen to live in the South East of England.

However, no-one pays £2500 for a new computer! (As detailed in latest minutes). Surely a sub-£1000 pc would be more than adequate?

Err... I just have.

Well i think £5 is a small price to pay, i'm not a car club type of person but i must afmit i really look forward to sprint everymonth, my only problem with the mag is that they hardly cover any of the TVR racing which would really help to raise its profile amongst the members

So moving this on a bit.........
Lets say for sake of argument, membership goes up
What would you like to see change?
What is actually possible?
What 'plans' have all you nominees got, come on sell it to us
I'll quite happily say it's the best car club I've ever been in, out of 2 so it is ahead of the game anyway but if things can be improved with a little effort from the masses then I look forward to seeing it, and being part of it

are found it it was tms rather than the club

"It would be good to see more club members actively involved in organising and running events rather than bleating on a well known web site"

and looks like they were complaining about members and recognising that this is where most of us live. I must admit i carnt see the point in the tvrcc website forum i've been there once and forgotten my login...

Having received the voting paper - I'm please that
my comments from previous years papers were followed up.

We now seem to have a better system where we can now vote 'for' / 'against' and 'abstain'.

Almost a shame more people don't stand for each position but as we all know - it's easier to moan
about thing than actually doing something about it.

In "Springbok's" defence - it must be said that he
has done a lot for the club and is not the kind of guy
who just want's the lofty title and will the sit in
his armchair basking in the glory.

Oh - my paper in now in the post !!!

Is that what he said? Cheeky fella! At least this 'well known web site' gives us the opportunity to air our views. If the club don't like hearing those views, then they should look to themselves, not to us!

I can't get over that. Bleating! Heaven forfend we actually say what we feel about things. Oh no. That's not on!

Until this year, I was on the committe of Manchester and District Yoga Association. It's a lot smaller (two hundred or so members), so it was a lot easier for us to organise events etc. But if anyone ever tried to publish comments like that about our members in the magazine (that I edited), there is no way we would stand for it.

Members of a club do not 'bleat'. They say what they think about the club. If the club does not provide a formal method for members to give their feedback, then the members will find their own way to do it.

AGM's do not count as a mechanism for feedback. They are long, boring and too far away. Always. You can put them in a members kitchen, and it will still be too far from their lounge.

We (MADYA) provided a feedback form at every event, and wrote individually to each member not reviewing membership to ask their reasons.

It seems (and I may be wrong) that the TVRCC approach is to provide no formal mechanism, and then to tell people 'Quiet in the ranks' when they attempt to use informal routes!

Reckon it will go through though, no-one notices a fiver these days - perhaps that's what they want.

I think there pushing there luck a bit, if it's a vote via postal ballot I'd be a NO and if it did go up I'd be thinking about not renewing next year, the only thing I use it for is Le Mans tickets and thats looking doubtfull next year so £35 for a monthly mag, with is very good as far as club mags go, but it's no EVO (and EVO's cheaper)
I know with these clubs there are only as good as you make them, and I'd still go to regional meetings, no one would actually know if your a member there or not
I don't take advantage of the trackdays, and following on from the awful reports of this years Mania I'd sit out next years and see what the extra £5 paid for

I would know and not let your Micra in the carpark.

I cannot agree more with a lot of these comments, it's £5, yes, to a degree a bit of a pian, but £5, it must be nice to have so much free time to build up 5 pages (to date) on this. Either pay it, or don't, but get a life.
