Good Grief, there was I thinking all this banter was amongst a bunch of lads maybe late twenties to late thirties, and it turns out Rover P6B is 58, and blueg33 is nearly 50... eek

ORD, have to ask, I'm guessing your 30 something? (don't get all uptight or Porsche-ist it's just banter wink )

I know DA is in his 90's, and I'm no spring chicken, but it's beginning to sound like this thread is wrinkly dominated biggrin

Apparently, and according to my daughter, there is life after wrinkly status, seemingly when you've moved on from wrinkly, you become a dribbly smile Made I Larf biggrin

So here we are, bunch of old blokes, talking about 450bhp TVR's smile Few more years and it'll be mobility scooters smile

No offence to anyone was intended in this post whistle
You need to tread very carefully here young padawan! I'm 59 and I've got a 4.5 Cerb and a 4.5 Wedge! biggrin

Scary how time seems to fly, especially as you get older. I can remember joining PH like it was yesterday in 2002, asking advice about buying a Chim - I was only 35. Am 48 now yikes

A familiar story. Although I joined in 2005 at the age of 25 with a view to buying a Tuscan. 10 years later I have the same car, although I'm now a little wiser and a little wealthier, I seem to have way less money to burn....funny how that happens.

Could be right there. Bet you bought Autocar just so you could cut out pics of TVRs, Marcos and Ginettas in the late 60s (amongst others) and stick them on your bedroom wall. nerd

I didn't so much 'join' more like got put on it as part of the beta testing when Dave (Ted) built the site over 16 years ago to find out if it would catch on!

I sold my S3c in Feb '99 through Pistonheads For Sale section when it only had about 20 cars in it!

You must have been slightly ahead of me then rich, think I joined in mid-99 and am member 46 or something like that!

So we're the PHers who lived through the heyday, I was one of the first Tuscan customers and at age 35 those were great times with great cars, while I'd love to see the new owners achieve something similar I fear it's going to be very difficult in 2017, times have changed and peoples expectations are much higher, we shall see smile

No, ypu beat me by 30. You are Member 44 and I'm 74. If you hover over your name (or anyone's name) you will see their MemberID at the bottom of the page.

You must have joined earlier, as I bought my Griff in March 99 and sold the S a few weeks before...

I suspect we are among the youngest though. Most people on here would appear to be the type who'd refer to Brucie as 'young man'. biggrin

Ha same thing. I was 25 and wanted a Cerbera. Sadly the best quote got on the insurance was 17k so it never happened.

I think I got lucky, when I got the Griff I was 21 but you could still get insured as a named driver. Couldn't have afforded it otherwise.

I got my Cerb when I was 21, cost £1200 for insurance, not too bad I thought. It is now £900 at the age of 23.

I seem to recall it being about £500 21 years ago and it's pretty much been around that ever since as I think the Typhon was around that level when I insured it at the end of last year. I thought that pretty good for central London.

I seem to remember mine was 1500 quid a year at 25 for my Tuscan S. Not bad considering I had zero NCB at the time. It's now about 300 a year on a limited mileage classic policy, although I rarely get the chance to drive it these days. frown
