Sunninghill by a mile for me Phil. Mine's due in a couple of weeks - I'd better get dialling, thanks for the reminder!

Insurance is due next month, although I'm now 40; tesco.com was about £100 cheaper than my last year quote, but that was Sunninghill and included track days and RAC.

Tried esure - wouldn't cover me, said it was the type of car, even though they advertise as covering 'safe drivers'. I sent them feedback saying they could simplify their web site to 1 question - "what year was your brown Austin Allegro built?"

It's already been mentioned earlier Shnozz but Manning's will give you a competetive quote. They give good reductions for TVR car Club Members, all you need is your membership number.

The details are usually in Sprint magazine.

most people havent heard of them but try Frizzell (www.frizzell.co.uk). Its a big new insurer formed of some old ones (I think). Mate of mine got £800 on his Chim when Direct line wanted £1100.

They're the insurance arm of the CSMA (Civil Service Motoring Association). Been going for years, the wifes Defender only costs just over £240 fully comp with them. I've been with them for 20 years - excellent service on claims (believe me the wifes tested it many times)

Tesco insurance is apparently proviced via Direct Line, as is their credit cards and loans. Direct Line offer discounts if you have other policies, house insurance for instance.

Certainly is. Privilege and DL are the same thing incidentally, so you get identical quotes. I heard a rumour that the Coop Ins (CIS) have dropped their car rates recently, but I don't know what they are like on anything out of the ordinary.

Well - errr - actually, not yet. Actually I may not have a problem with them at all - it may be another company that is causing me loads of grief.
It's just that they are one of 2 companies I am dealing with at the moment (and have been since April '01) that I am less than chuffed with!

Sorry I should have kept me gob shut!
