TVR merchandise
Discussion
Has anyone noticed how difficult it is to find merchandise with TVR on it. Unless of course you go to TVR merchandising and pay the premium. I frequent such places as Brands Hatch and Donnington often to watch these wonderful machines blast around the tracks but never able to find any 'goods' to take home. There are many stands and shops that have Lotus sport - Ferrari - Porsche etc but no TVR. Have they tied up the copyright so tight that no one can sell the stuff. I want to see everyone wearing TVR or drinking out of TVR mugs, surely the more merchandise that gets out there the better it would be for up and coming sports car buyers etc. And where's all the models of the cars, they are extremely beautiful machines and all I can find in my local model shops are Subarus??!! not that I've got anything against them. I want a nice 1:12 scale Chimeara in starmist for 20 quid please Umbrago. My nephew has all the other sports cars and one TVR speed 12 that looks out of place. Sorry if it sounds like a gripe but I like collecting stuff and supporting my present vice!

TVR Personal Possessions seem to have a stranglehold on the merchandise. Sadly they seem rather inept. I have a friend who ordered gear which turned up six months later and heard a story of someone the other day who ordered two baseball caps for their kids. They arrived TWO YEARS later!
Criminal as they have a licence to print money given TVR's popularity.

The TVRCC of North America do some nice lines of regalia.

This outfit is I believe run by Peter Wheeler's brother in law or some such nepotistic relationship.
The quality of the stuff generally seems ok, but the delay in receiving it and the cost seems difficult to justify to be polite.
You only need to look at the Lotus stuff to see what can be done.
I think it's about time for Mr Wheeler to upset the sister and give the present organisation the boot. That way we maybe could look forward to a bigger range, better prices and moreover better supply.
Maybe they read Pistonheads and would deem to reply?

It's not just the scarsity (sp) of models but the price. I, like alot of people would like a nice 1:18 scale Chimaera etc, not some poxy 1:43 scale model that is hand made and costs £70.
How the hell do you justify £70 for a tiny model, its not as if the detail is high, it can't be, it's too small.
Instead I'm half content with my purple speed 12 that sits on my desk, not particularly accurate but at least its a decent size.
