Ive had a rather childish idea...its not my first, but i feel i want to share it with you all and then hopefully we can sort this issue out....
....i popped up to leeds at the weekend to see the gfriend in the Griff....and she decided that she wanted to go shopping.....ah....parking...hummm...
....i decided to park the car around the quadrant of solicitors offices, but was then approached as i got a meter ticket by a warden..who told me not to park here sonny boy...
...how many of you have experienced the "every second thought.." senario

....not another clothes shop/wonder how the car is?
....got a quid for the big issue/did i lock the car?
....every black top looks the same/someone could be nicking it this very second!
....hummm...nice ass/surely there'd nick that Z3 first?

.....needless to say i had a full sweat on and was about as relaxed as a 16 year old virgin....
...anyway the idea

...(1) park the car...no need to lock it
...(2) Make a phone call to the police saying you have planted a bomb in a (give car details, location)
...(3) Wait until you can hear sirens and waltz off for a afternoons shopping...with the peace of mind in thinking fifty or so policemen are watching, debating and giving your car their upmost attention.....
...(4) Then arrive back at your car and cooly drive off
....downside....dont take too long...or you could find you car being attacked by something out of the film "shortcircuit"..and possibly blown up!....

...anyone with any other security ideas?

Could try making a dummy clamp and tickets. Stick it on you car when you park up and come back and remove it.

Remove you windscreen wipers when you park so they can't fix the ticket to anything.

Friends of mine drive on foriegn plates thus avoid tickets and gatsos.

Change the screen cleaning fluid to pepper spray and have it automatically spray when wipers are lifted.

Could try the bomb warning one again but claim the bomb is in the building next to your car. Car won't be exploded this way and those bloody ticket wardens will be banned from the area.

Hire a sniper to camp out opposite your car on a high floor and take out anyone who looks like they are up to no good.

Thanks Ted and Mara....

.....never thought of the building instead of the car!
...As far as foreign plates go...do they have to be registered to a UK address if being perm. used?

...could someone open a special car park for short-stay vehicles with excellent security on site and wide spaces for no door denting?...id pay more for peace of mind!
