Been browsing the numerous Pistonhead threads and just had to state the bleedin' obvious - aren't our cars incredible? There is nothing to touch them for the money and mine just makes me very happy!! I don't think those who drive other stuff "really get it" but those of us who are lucky enough to posses a Tiv are living in a parallel universe and know what pleasure they bring.

Time to open the 2nd bottle of red wine I think!

I'm with you on that one. The things that some might find crude and primitive about them is definitely a big part of the appeal. The word is 'raw' and the driving experience even at slow speeds is intense, vivid and always memorable. Cars like fast BMW's etc are effective and impressive but you don't feel the speed, the miles pass quickly unnoticed. TVR's offer pure driving pleasure in an uncut form, that is if you like outrageous performance. But for all the rawness I actually think the most important things are right. Great gearchange, pedals, quick steering, not to stiff damping, very lightweight, long travel throttle, great seats and driving position, never mind the noise and world beating styling. Have you noticed how ugly ferraris are these days? Better cars for sure but why can't they look good too? TVR's are anachronistic but they are the only car maker around today making cars with real character and proper old school driving pleasure. For me the more high tech and efficient the other cars become the more appealing TVR's get. I'm hooked! There's nothing like them anywhere!

Thanks for your reply - you've summed up exactly what I love about the marque! When I actually take a proper look at my T350C (rather than just glancing admiringly) I am astounded by the details - the compound curves around the rear and the way the wheel arch lip fades into a smooth transition with the body sides - wow!

Nurse - the screens!

Plural of "TVR" is "TVRs" not "TVR's".

I strayed but now I'm back I can't honestly see me ever leaving the marque (unless there's something horrific in store from the new man at the top).

Just to open the garage to see "Trevor" in the morning is enough reason to own one!

My missus used to be a big ferarri fan, and really wanted an Audi TT (until she could afford some overpriced Italian rubbish)

Once I got the Tiv, she changed her mind. Now all she wants is a Tamora (or at least a go in my Chim).

5 for the try, 2 for the conversion!

Well, I don't think my Tam wants to leave me! Had it booked in for a front end respray, couldn't make the date because the recovery lorry brike down and was at the garage,,,, 2nd time was meant to be yesterday, truck came, Tam was put onto truck, truck had another prob, Tam taken off truck and tucked away in my garage again!!! The recovery truck is now at a local garage, and my car will be taken when the truck is fixed! And they say TVR's are unreliable!!! I love 'em (will love it even more if it ever makes it to the bodyshop!!!!)

Jeez, thought I was bad.

I've just chucked my first empty bottle of Shiraz in the recycling bucket.

I'm now sobering up on milk.

Even I can't face a second bottle of Shiraz all to myself on a weekday...

Cheers

Pat

Yes, TVRs are beautiful and fun, but neither they nor the company that makes them are 'great'.

You've all been drinking too much!

Be careful next time you are up there then mate. There are some freakishly big hares up there. I mean 'Twilight Zone'
One of those could knock you of the road.

Certainly too big to go under the car with only 4 inches of clearance. Accidently went over an already dead pheasant recently and you'd have thought I'd hit a dead sheep!
