I thought those were going to be the new style wheels for the Sagaris, are they TVR Motion wheels?

My first thought but no. There has been at least three styles of wheels shown on the Sagaris.

These are 20" wheels used just for the motor show. £3,000 according to PW. I asked the factory for the suppliers name as I wanted 18" version on my new Tusc S but they wouldnt give me the details. So if anyone knows please post.

That was my thought for my MK I. Hate to think what the ride would be like with 20"s!

Have to say that I think it's a bit petty of them not to let you know who made them...

They were 19's on the Sagaris (and couldn't be made to fit so were dropped). They were also used on Lawrence's 440r IIRC.

I'm sure i've seen a similar rim on a non-TVR car... can't think of it at the moment.

I took quite a few photos around the wheel arches of the Sagaris at the NEC last year... something was TOTALLY amiss with it at that point - one wheel had about 3" of clearance, the other about 3mm. There was no way it was driveable in that state.

I discussed this with PW at the show and he def said they were 20". Surely he would know what he had put on it. Not starting an arguement. Its just what he told me, and no they def did not fit. Did look lovely though. Great PR stunt by PW, exhibiting a new car with gorgeous wheels you cant have and wearing an outrageous colour you also cant have.

Well, he should know! I got told that they couldn't fit 19" wheels when I ordered a Sagaris. Having said that, as others have fitted 19" wheels to t350's you're most probably right...

I have fitted 19" to my past t350. The problem is that the rolling diameter of the smallest size 19" tyres for the rear is ever so slightly bigger, this means that when you have stuff in the boot, the car bottoms out in a way that the tyre tread actually touches the whole of the arch. At the front the only problem is that the tyres touch on full lock. Put it this way, you can live with it.

Im guessing that this will be the same problem on the sagaris?

They are called savage and are made by Rimstock and can get them through team dynamics. If you need a contact name and number e mail me. I bought a set of pro comp 1 wheels from them on a special order as they dont do them for t350, but as the wheels are blanks it just means they have to re set the drilling machines. All you need to make sure is the wheels you choose have the correct off set. Oh and getting them direct means they not that expensive less than a hundred each. Rimstock also make TVRs spiders ?

Hmmm... could the last sentence imply that they (the manufacturer) could also 'reset the drilling machines' on the Spider blanks, say, with a four-hole result suitable for Grimps (or even Chiffs)?

Probably but you will have to ask them. Go onto team dynamics web site thats how i started and got lucky when a certain chap answered the phone who new everything about TVRs as he is the main designer.

Try them they done it for me.

Think you might find that rimstock just took the time to find out the details of the offsets.
When I bought my 19" khan wheel, I checked on the back of the original spiders the offsets and wheel size, meanwhile autodesign technics (the sales side of kahn wheels) found the offsets too, we compared notes and found that the offsets are pretty standard ( fronts are for one type of car and rear to another).

So what this means is that if you just go to a stockist, they most likely wont want to split to sets of wheels! Go to the manufacturers and its a different story.

The other problem is that many wheel manufacturers have a limited number of width for there wheels, most 18" and 19" wheels are sold either in 8" or 8 1/2" and maybe (rarely) 9". this is because they make them for the mass market and most of the cars have the same size wheels all round. this is why we are even limited in a choice of 18" wheels. There is more of a choice in 19" wheels, as they used to only be fitted high performance cars ( porsche, ferrari's .... that all have different size tyre/wheels front to back).

So in the end, just keep looking, hope you find a salesman who is willing to make the effort to find out which wheels are prodruced in widths and offsets that can be fitted on your tvr.
