No, not wife-swapping (only just got this one trained!).
Driving back home after seeing the Pheasant Runners off on their merry way, I noticed that the renowned South Lodge Hotel (which I live adjacent to) are having an open-air Big Band concert on 31st July. Not really my scene but hopefully a hot afternoon, picnic, good companions(oh and you lot I suppose) and live music should be a recipe for a great afternoon/evening. If anyone's interested, I'll make more enquiries. About time I pulled my finger out and arranged something rather than leave it for the usual suspects to do all the work. I will find out what the parking arrangements are but hopfully PH Parking can be arranged.

Join us for the third year of the Big Band Concert!
Playing a wide range of 'swing' music and Glenn Miller classics, guests are invited to bring along a picnic basket to accompany the afternoon of festivities.

We strongly advise that you book early as we expect this event to be sold out quickly as in recent years. Tickets are priced at just £19 per adult and £11 per child. Under 11's are complimentary. From 4.00pm to 8.00pm

(Please note that full payment is required at the time of booking)
Not sure about the complimentary Under 11's? Im trying to get away from mine for the night

I reckon my Cerb is a bit gorgeous. Could it have been along the road at Handcross?

South Lodge is very nice. (Although there's a Ferrari meet there today!!!!!! )

I *knew* someone was going to say that!

Well, we'd come off the A23 at the top of Handcross Hill, and were driving across to pick up the A281 to go into Horsham. If that's you, yes, it is a bit gorgeous! The car that is, couldn't see the driver

Nick,
We would be up for this, if the weather is good should be a good day. They have some special offers for staying over so might get a room for the night, let me know if you guys are definitely going?

Yep that's my pride and joy. Its a good thing you didn't see the driver - not a pretty sight!

Hmmm... the closest I've ever been to culture was a live yoghurt I left at the back of my fridge for a couple of months, but like you say Nick, with good weather, a decent picnic and great company, it should be good fun.

I'll find out whether Claire's up for it and let you know for definite...

In fact Nick, if we get bored with the music, we could always hold a symphony of our own in the car park - Elgar's 8th in the key of V8

If you want to add some class and sophistication to that symphony of yours, you will of course need a good old bit of straight 6

As Nick pointed out in his original post, it's not that sort of thread

BUMP

Sorry, been away in France on holiday, in the Audi, obviously

Sounds like we have a goer then? Shall start making enquiries next week.

If the car's not ready by then, Im gunna insist Paul gives me a piggyback all the way to South Lodge. Luckily for him, its only 200 yards from me

Thanks for the photo Nick, I had almost forgotten what he looks like

I think you might be missing something here Nick... you are 200 yards away from Sough Lodge right? You could throw a BBQ at yours, charge say £10/head and everyone could listen to the strains of the Big Band from your garden... Just an idea!

There certainly was.

It was the Sussex Ferrari launch party for the new F430. South Lodge IS very nice.
Who wants to see the pictures..?

I am quite surprised nobody posted many "spotted's" from 15th May - given there were 31 Ferrari's parked on South Lodge's lawn between 11:30am and 4:30pm..!

OK, have now heard back from South Lodge. They are happy to accomodate us and have suggested parking on the front lawn (pride of place ) so it seems we are systems go!

List so far: (why cant I add a 'plus' sign?)

njw77 plus Abi
Mrs Cuchillo (plus poss. Mr Cuchillo?)
V8Smith (plus 1?)
Nuggsy (plus Claire?)
AlexRWD (plus 1?)

Anyone else want to try to convince us they are a classy act?

C'mon Derek, cosmos, Mr Trinity et al? Some of you must be ready for a bit of culture (that doesnt lie at the bottom of the fridge!)

I'll start confirming numbers with South Lodge in the next week or so.

Would it be easier for me to collate all the cheques/payments or do you all want to do it individually?

I know we wont get 43 cars like the Fezza boys (in Colin's post above), but lets show them quality over quantity

Hi Nick

I hope the holiday was good (even if you did have to take the Panzer)

Claire and I are in there like swimwear (as they say). I'm happy to either send you a cheque or deal direct with SLH; whichever you'd prefer*.

C'mon swingers, let's get some more names on the board

*If you want me to send you a cheque, email me your address...

I did get a few funny looks driving from the Frogs as I drove along Omaha Beach ...Saving Private Nick (or is it Saving Nick's privates?)

More information than was needed, but glad to have you both on board

No rush for the cheques. As soon as I have numbers to go with I'll make the reservation/booking and we can sort out payment then (plus my handling charge, of course )
