Some Bristol region TVRCC members are planning to attend the mid-Essex TVRCC regional meet on Sunday 12 June ... a good excuse to get some miles on a new Sagaris, hoon in a Cerbie and meet up with not only 2 other fellow Saggy owners for a photo shoot, but also meet a fellow Tivver from the Philippines.

Yes it's a long way, and yes it will be an early start, but I can see it now ... a Surrey region style Bristol dawn raid, bacon butties, lots of wee stops for Dave ... it will be fun!

I'm going to organise a great route there which will be full of enjoyable twisties, a blast through the Dartford tunnel, and have plans for dinner in a good pub on the way home. In fact the home route is being planned by V8 Archie and will include lots of London tunnels.

I need to know numbers in order to pre-warn the lunch time caterers ... 2-course Sunday lunch for a tenner sounds good to me, and more Tivs than you can shake a stick at.

The route there will take in Wiltshire, Hampshire, Surrey etc, so we are happy to build in convenient meeting points, fuel stops and the like.

Any takers?

An update for anyone coming along ...

We will be meeting with some Berkshire Tivvers just off the M4 Junction 10 at around 9.30am (follow signs for Woodley and meeting will be at an industrial area near Showcase cinema), leaving at 10am to Essex.

The trip there will be mostly motorway after this point, but "V8 Archie" is sorting our route on the way home. We will taking in loads of London tunnels and a trip along the embankment before exiting west London for the run home.

Be good to see you ...

Would be a good idead to meet at the White Hart, easy to get to from the A12, as they may get lost going to the forresters, as I do nearly every time we come

Usually leave the White Hart at 12.00, so if you can get there 15 mons before, should errrr on the side of caution...

Looks like the first meet up point is going to be near J18 of the M4. We will then be taking 'normal' roads until Hungerford area before joining the M4 at Hungerford and meeting up with the Berkshire Tivs.

J18 meeting point will be 6.45am/7am.

Finalised first meeting point on Sunday 12 June is 7am at the Shell petrol station on the A420 west of Chippenham.

We'll be picking up the Berkshire crew between 9.30 and 10am at Junction 10 on the M4, meeting more Tivs at the White Hart in Chelmsford, then on to the Essex Meet.

Looking forward to meeting you ...

I may well meet you at J10 M4, dependant on:-

1. If the car starts, got problems with the starter motor at the moment.

2. If I can face another trip over to Essex, been over there on business the last two weeks and next week.

If I'm not at the meeting point, I probably won't be coming; so, don't wait.

I hope so....we generally have quite a few at the Mid Essex Meet.....

This is a pic of our 'S' Special.....

have top say that was a jolly good turn out...but it generally is when we do a 'Special' of any kind.

Although this meet I would like to put all the Griffs together.

Apart from a few other regions visiting as guests, we have an Extra Special Guest this month..Andy is coming over from the Philippines and he is currently having a Griff converted to LHD over there.
If I put all the Griffs together it will give him a chance to have a good natter with other Griff owners.

We would be delighted if you could make it on Sunday....

We will be joining the convoy at the White Hart ... in fact our plan for the day (as far as those coming from Bristol are concerned) is as follows:

Part One (Nice roads avoiding m'ways as much as poss:

Chippenham (leave at 7am from Shell garage on A420), Lacock (big hill to Sandy Lane), Devizes, Marlborough, Hungerford, then picking up the A34 and stopping at the services at Junction 13 (at 8.50am for 15 mins) on M4 for munchies and wee break, then on to M4 Junction 10 to meet Berkshire crew for around 9.30am.

Part Two (Boring motorway ... did have nice route but lack of time):

Hellos and minimal kicking tyres, aiming to leave between 9.45/10am at latest then back to M4, M25, pit stop for Optimax and wee wees at Junction 21a (10 mins max), then M25 and A12 to White Hart at Chelmsford (need to get here for 11.45am for hellos etc ... they are leaving at 12 midday on dot).

Part Three:

Leave pub at 12 midday, back onto A12 and local roads to The Foresters following convoy that we are meeting at White Hart aiming to arrive for 12.30.

Homeward bound:

I suggest we leave no later than 3pm. V8 Archie has our route from the pub through London back to M4 area where we can make our own convoys home. Suggest maybe the bristol Tivs come off the M4 at Junction 13/14 and stop at a nice pub for din dins and natter ...

Jackie ... sorry no Southend this time ... And no Dartford tunnel as we don't have time ... but I will organise another trip that takes in both of these if there are enough takers ... I'll even get in touch with the Cobra boys in Kent/Essex area who would no doubt be up for it.
