After a slight rear end bump i have been advised by 2 TVR specialist bodyshops that they will not even try to match the paint and it will need a full respray. They will not advise painting in Rosso or Red Glow as they will fade, what is the best match to Rosso?

They're right I'm afraid, Rosso Pearl is in effect a silver car with a red ink added to the laquer, once it has seen sunlight it is nearly impossible to match.

Try Ewelme, they did a superb job of matching my rosso cerb a while back.

My Rosso Griff is 7 years old now and the paintwork still looks great with a lovely deep colour, no fading whatsoever. There are, apparently two different types of rosso pearl, one can be matched. More info Here

Nightfire Pearl Red is about the closest alternative. My previous Cerb was resprayed from Rosso Pearl to Nightfire Pearl, and I must admit that I prefer the Nightfire. It's a tad deeper in colour than rosso.

My Chim 450 is currently being resprayed in Rosso Pearl and is due for completion on Wednesday. The only reason it required a respray was because of the stone chips and some cracking of the existing laquer. It hadn't faded at all. The pearl base coat is not silver it is gold / red. It has had three coats of primer, three coats of pearl base, three coats of red laquer and three coats of clearcoat. The spray shop obtained the paint formulations from TVR who were very helpfull. The colour match is bang on. So I suggest that you speak to Steve in the TVR paint department at Blackpool and ask him to fax you the paint formulation. They also gave the telephone number of a paint supplier in Oldham, Lancs who mixed the paint and delivered it the same day.

No it isn't, the red ink is a seperate layer in it's own right. The lacquer is clear - same as every other car...

I 2nd the vote for Ewelme - they gave me a good spread of options that were all very close substitutes.

Just e-mailed Ewelme to see if they could do a little work on my Griff, as I haven't had any luck elsewhere.

So I'll be on both hands for a optimistic answer.
