I wasn't going to post any pictures until the tvrolet was finished, but I had to roll the chassis out of my garage to get the trailer out from behind it....and it just looked so nice in the sun. So I thought I better share it, in all its naked glory, before all the shiny stuff gets clothed again.

So, everything on the chassis freshly powder coated in silver...or polished. Chassis modified as a proper 2-seater etc. Yup, that's a small block Chevrolet up front, newly built and dyno'd at 485ft/lb...and with 'adequate' power. Lakewood scattershield squeezed in there for a bellhousing hiding a McLeod Magnum Force multi-plate clutch, then on to a Tremek TKO600 box...another tight fit. But is all DOES fit :)

The underside of the body has been totally remade to fit on top of all this lot too, so hopefully I'll get the body back on by the weekend.

Enjoy.

It's looking good Willie... I was starting to wonder if it was all just a figment of your imagination

That is one serious lump and gearbox - although it looks like you'll have to undergo the old Chinese foot-binding treatment to be able to operate the pedals.

Nice work.

Looks Beuuutifull, that bellhousing looks stronger than a Brick sh1thouse,how does your weight bias work out with the cast iron lump.
PS,there's so many chevy's happening at the mo,its seems to be a natural progression for real power,

I'm speculating that the bias will be towards the front However, the tank mounts behind the diff and the fire extinguisher is at the back too. Plus, if you can make out from the pix, I'm using a small race battery mounted towards the back under the propshaft (seemed a good place). All of which will probably make sod-all difference to weight distribution compared to the weight of the engine/bellhousing/box, but at least I'm trying.

Have you got any work in progress pics for the chassis mods you needed to do to get that lot in?

Well, I've paid for a slot, but in all honesty I'm behind where I thought I'd be with the build by now, and I just can't see it being running by then

Unless there's some miracle, I think I'll have a place up for grabs

There doesn't appear to be much metal between driver/passenger

There's the full Tuscan 6-point roll cage to go in once the body is on. Cage has been modified to be symetrical, since as standard, it favours the driver (there not being a passenger in a race Tuscan).

The block itself is just a common-or-garden 4-bolt mains iron block. Scat forged stroker crank to 383cu in, I-beam [or are they H-beam?] rods, bumpy cam, ZZ4 heads but with some serious valve and porting work, single plane manifold (ran better on the dyno than a dual plane), 750 dual pumper carb etc. The rotating assembly has all been balanced, and it spent a fair bit of time on the dyno to get it set up nicely. I gather the AJP in the race Tuscans makes 380ft/lb maximum, (and that's TVR's figures). My dyno printout only starts at 2900rpm, and at that point the chevy was making 430ft/lb!

Good positive post turns negative. That seems to be the PH way at the moment. Why?
