Top Gear magazine have just done a group test on Lambo Murcielago, Pagani Zonda, Aston Vanquish, Ferrari 575M, 911 Turbo, TVR Cerbera RR, and Merc SL55 AMG.
The TVR is only beaten to 60mph by the Lambo, equal with the Zonda. It comes second again in the 1/4 mile sprint, beaten this time by the Zonda. To 100 it's only beaten by the Lambo and Zonda.
The then driven round a circuit by 'the Stig', where it comes forth beaten by the Zonda (6.3secs), Lambo (4.6) and Mercedes (1.5). The TVR did the circuit in 90.8 seconds, the times it was beaten by are in brackets.
The best bit though the Porsche posted a DNF - broken gear linkage.
Haven't read the article yet, only looked at the numbers. But, not bad for a car that is almost half the price of the next most expensive and 1/4 million less than the Zonda.

Is this car still running an ordinary RRTuscan spac engine? If so, the results are even better, but it is dissappointing that it doesn't have the full grunt available. It would, and should, beat the Lambo, because according to Autocar, their tests showed that even the Tamora can equal the Lambo's 0-60, and 0-100 times...
Do you reckon that's why Clarkson and the boys scoffed so enthusiastically yesterday when some chap e-mailed TG to say that he could post a quicker time around the test track in his 911 Turbo?
