Strange co-incidence?

Maybe it is just me but do we have two TVR's with the same registration?

While passing the time I came across these two cars bearing the same reg.
Got me interested, so I looked a bit further. Seems the Reg on the Griff
was sold on e-bay on 31st October...and appears on the Chim on an advert
that is 10 days old (making it's posting date approx 29th October)..but it
looks like a reposting as it states 'Since placing this ad the car has been
inspected and recommended to people searching for a TVR, by Rob Ingleby who
sources TVRS.'

So, did the reg make it from the Griff to the Chim in a couple of days?
Did Peter Kemp pay serious money for a Reg a couple of days before deciding to sell?
or is it something more sinister......?

Have seen something similar within this months Classic and Sports Car Magazine. Their are two different Jaguars shown, both with the reg No. 'BUY 1'. The first is a red Coombs spec Mk2 in a full page trade advert, and the second is a white Mk1, shown in a photo of a trip to europe (the writter with the white E type's column).

'BUY 1' is quite a famous number plate i understand, but it looks like their are again two cars using this identity...

Probably a case that the reg has been sold... one is a current pic, and one is an old pic...

It gets more strange, if you bang in the 'BUY 1' reg Number into the RAC data site, it says the plate is on a Blue MINI cooper?

TVR 7S is listed as a 1992 manufactured TVR sports car in RED. It doesn't say if it's a Griff or Chim.

That ties up then. Actually I made an error in my first post - the auction on e-bay ended on 21st October - so, in theory, the number could have been transferred from the Griff in time to appear on the Chim (just maybe - but are the DVLA that quick?) - but I would guess the Chim seller was already in mind to sell well before that, due to the fact that the reason he gave was a new arrival in the family (human that is). So the question remains - would he have shelled out somewhere up to 2.5 grand for a new reg just a few days before advertising his car for sale? Hmmmmm

The number plate is mine, bought it from the guy with the Chim and put it on my Griff, since then I tried to sell the Griff on ebay but the sale never completed! Griff is still for sale (see classifieds) but plate has since been sold again so you should be seeing it on a Tuscan in Wales very shortly, Simon.

By the way don't you think the breeze blocks finish the picture off nicely!!

All Griff owners should have a pile of breeze blocks in the drive. It's helps to maintain the image.

Damn! - thought I was onto something there! Thanks for clearing up the mystery though.
(BTW - Breezeblocks are definitely ! )
