MPH 05: Anyone get any gossip?
Discussion
I had a chat to Jason Oxley on the TVR stand on Saturday and the gossip I got was:
1) New Factory has gone out to tender so is very "real"
2) There is the possibility of a new dealer in Aberdeen
3) All new Tuscan 2 convertables will be 4 ltr as the base case
4) There is £5K off new Tuscan 2 convertables up to the ned of the year
5) TVR are offering an 8 year "wear and tear" warranty - although I'm not sure whether that phrasing is right
I've lusted after the tusc 2 convertable ever since I saw it at HHC so will be ringing about the £5K

I asked about engine reliability and was told that it's all sorted now. Apparently the worst was in 2002 and since then they've improved things. He sais the Sagaris is the first to have the "red top" engine which is reflowed has new high lift cams and revs more readily etc. I don't know if anyone can expand on this. I though the build quality of the cars on the stand was very good although its a bit sad to see the plastic indicator stalks replace the metal. Still, if they're spending the savings in the right places I'm not really bothered. Also the Sagaris had a bolt down bonnet.
The sad news is I can't afford one yet. I figure I've got a couple of years before I can afford to trade the Chimp. If there's any eccentric millionaire PHers out there who'd like to donate to the very worthy cause of "buy the monkey a Saggy for Xmas", please feel free.

Just been speaking to Jason actually. Just to clarify:

Any orders placed for a Tuscan before than can have the Sports Pack option for £3500 + VAT which is a saving of over £5k. This promotion is for Tuscan's ordered and put into build before the end of the year.

Is this an additional warranty available above and beyond the 3 year / 36000 mile warranty?
And any indication when those of us who bought new TVR's after the 3/36 warranty started will get the paperwork? I've asked the factory and various dealers when this will be sent to owners and have yet to hear a answer.
