Can any of you cleaver people advice me of the best starting point when tracking down these few intermittent faults!

1) Interestingly after three weeks of having it, today it made a little beeping noise when the indicators were on? I am confident I should have heard it before!
2) My alarm is playing up? Sometimes unlocks the car, other times, yes it’s the other method! However I only have 1 key which is a problem or so I have been told, now meaning a complete alarm with two keys at £450.00?
3) Driver’s door switch is hit and miss, one is coming in the post? However is it linked to the connections above and not the switch at all?
4) Windows today decided not to go up when I got out of the car, fiddled a little from the centre console and started working again?
5) “O” Code comes up on starting? I have looked at one of Justin Bakers postings but, no nearer (no communication between analogue and control up)??? What exactly is failing to communicate or respond?

If these things could be linked to a central point it would be great, however getting any info from books etc is proving more of a challenge then I had anticipated. If anyone can point me in some direction, I would be very grateful. I would like to avoid having to pay the main dealer costs at this point in time. My debit card still smoldering from the car purchase and my smile is starting to droop a little.

A few electrical connection points etc would be a blinding start, don’t fancy stripping it all down.

I thank you in advance

Paul

No idea, but telling us what the car is might be a start?

1/ I f this was when you were locking the car it is normal although the alarm will only bleep if the interior light time has not expired i.e. it is still on.

2/ Carl Baker www.tvruk.tv/ can provide replacements.

3/ Possibly related to above.

4/ Don’t know.

5/ Always had this one on starting for a second or two while the analogue Speedo re-zeros itself.

Perhaps start by getting a dealer/knowledgeable independent to check all the earth points. I had similar symptoms on my Sagaris and it turned out to be a loose earth.

1. They should do.

2. Could be batteries packing up in fob. New fobs can be bought for about £50 and programmed from your existing one. If your existing one packs up then it's a full alarm job.

3 & 4 are probably related. If your door switch is dodgy then car could think door shut when not so windows go up. Mine does it sometimes after heavy rain as water gets into the door electrics.

It sounds like water getting in to the window module in the door.

Lots of electrical faults at the same time could be a failing battery or one that is not fully charged with an Optimate or similar.

If it was my car and I knew the battery was 3 years old or more, for the cost of a replacement around £75, I would fit a new one first before replacing any other parts.

At least that was my experience with a 2001 Tuscan.

If you have lots of seemingly random but intermittent faults it is usually a bad earth somewhere. If you can trace back the earth for any one of those components you may find the fault.

It was really simple stuff (well once I worked out how to get the door panel off)!

I cannot believe that they would use non weather proof connections? All fixed in half hour with the exception to key fob which is defunct.

Poor job and finish from TVR, I am going to get some better plugs from RS components monday! and spend the three quid blackpool should have in the first place

Thank you all for your advice and help

Kind Regards

Paul
