104 cars per year @ 50k each = £5.2 million revenue
That's more like dealer turnover! I think well under £40k net average per car from the factory!
I agree, when you add up all the costs rather than my quick snap shot it must be frightening. With no sales you are dead in the water, if you at least had sales you could look at reducing your costs and try to earn something.

shit 2 cars a week !!!!!!!!!!!!!
is that all they can sell?
104 cars per year @ 50k each = £5.2 million revenue
150 workforce @ 30k each = £4.5 million
52 x £10.000 rent = £0.52 million
is he going to need deep pockets or what?
What about suppliers charges, business rates, utility charges?? Unless he sells more cars, I fear 150 is too large a work force. The books just will not balance.

Well who wants to buy a Lax power special ? - clearly not many
Admittedly the Sag can look a little OTT in some photos, but when you actually see it in the flesh I think the impression is far removed from this. It looks very imposing and aggressive, but not "lax power" as you put it. All IMHO of course.
But hell, what do I know, I can't afford one for the minute, so my opinion is therefore clearly invalid.
I think this is to be expected given the low sales, relative high costs of new cars, fairly dismal support dealers receive and the poor management decisions coming out of TVR lately (improvements in quality aside). Maybe this is the first sensible thing Moleskins has done, but I doubt it?
If we are lucky he will sell it to someone else as a going concern, which seems most likely as the brand is very strong. You speak to kids about TVR and they all know what they are and are genuinely aspirational cars (God I sound like an old fart!). The factory have realised this but a little too late.
This type of news simply puts off potential new customers, and as an existing owner it does little to fill me with confidence that I will receive the support a bespoke product needs.

All due to lack of info imo . . .
Sorry mate, could you expand your point a bit please?
Off course can I explain: if you have a product - this fine, like the Saggy and the Tuscan ragtop - you could at least campaign it a bit. Or did I miss that one? IMO there was little information from TVR about all the issues we wanted to hear about (Cerb2, S6, etc.). Lately (last 12 months) I missed the passion and enthusiasm belonging to TVR. That's a big part of the enthusiasts group, and also they have lots of other cars to choose from.
TVR just didn't have their act together. That in combi with the rumbling from inside made them very vunerable. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for over a year now, and I must say I almost loose faith . . . TVR please stay with us!
Amongst the main problems that TVR faces is that most of the people that could afford a TVR simply will not tolerate any reliabilty problems whatsoever. If there is the slightest suspicion that the car might, just might, let them down and leave them phoning from the side of the road for assistance, then the car will not even be considered.

This is totally correct and is why they're heading for new ownership or extinction

Same could be said about any of the sportscar Mfrs though.

Both Boxters lunched their clutches and had to pushed into the hanger for the final piece to camera! Didn't stop Porsche selling them by the millions.

FlipFlopGriff said:AFAIK, TVR have not applied for planning permission for any site (in the Blackpool area at least), nor have they acquired or secured any land either. The existance of planning permission is quite easy to prove (or disprove) with reference to the local planning department. The new factory is, I fear, just more spin.
May put the new factory move in jeopardy too.
FFG
and I'm still waiting on the missing/stockpiled cars story to be revealled too
Or of course, to be confirmed as an untruth, with all cars built recently really finding their way to dealers or customers

I hope they didn't sign new contracts when Moleskins took over waiving their right to full pay if layed off.
