TVR Bruntingthrope Track Day - £90!!!!
Discussion
As advertised on the TVRCC site there is a track day at Bruntingthrope for £90!!
Included in the day is:
- Track day
- Pro instructors including Steve Guglielmi of Tuscan fame, plus others,
- Auto tests,
- Concours,
- Loads of exhibitors etc,
- TMS there with all the new cars (T350C no doubt) for all to try,
- As well a strint along the 2 miles (yes 2 mile - Duxford was only 3/4 mile at Mania 2002) straight at the end of day.
Places are limited to 75 for the track day but open for the non track day tickets for a significantly reduced price. Non track entrants get the use of all above less the track day item.
So come on come along. TMS and Gugliemli Motor Sport are aiming to run several of these through 2003 (maybe 2-3 more) so we need to support these fantastic events.
The days are open to non TVR cars for both the track and non-track tickets.
As track day tickets are limited book ASAP, as at 3pm today some 20 track day tickets have been sold!!!!
For more advise please see www.tvrcc.com.
Thanks
Simon

Yes this does sound like good value.
A couple of points.
The surface at Brunters is VERY hard on tyres. The stone problem has been attended to - or so I'm informed.
The centre section between the runways is a good quality surface and great for drifting!
When you are on the long straight, and going like a "bat out of hell" down hill, heading back towards the parking areas be very aware of your breaking distances - you could end up getting into some serious problems if you are not awake.
Anyone got any dates for these?
Cheers

been there a couple of times, in a griff 500.
runway is not always open...only l/h/side is suitable for runs, looks flat but as i said...at 160! I stopped there but the car had more, i was more scared of the "lid" flying off as it was windy.
second time, augustish was on the new short track. its very good with two fast sections, they put a full width chicane in on the 2nd half of the runway which was used as the back straight, to slow us down. but with juditious use of lift, only served as a top drifting point!
twin apex at the top is also fun with changes of surface and bumps. then two shortish straights with a flowing l/h following the peri-track round to fast 90 degree r/h (round an old 747!)500m to r/h, chicane, then onto back straight again...
fast circuit good for muscle, but the complex allows lighter cars to regain ground. 100-110 past the pits, the back straight will depend on layout.
I had a fair bit of chipping last time, but a don't hang back that much as the car is only used for track at the mo, NOT as much run off as you would expect! A 911 went off (several times
),the last time fully crossing from back straight to pit straight - hitting the tyres! 'bout 20K worth of damage my mate thought, (who drives porkers)
did'nt notice MASSIVE tyre wear, normal for a "green" track. but not the place to go if you've only got 3mm left!
good fun tho, and a great place for powerful cars.
WORTH IT FOR THE STRAIGHT ALONE!
I'll be booking up
