Dave Cumming RIP

Just as I thought things couldn't possible get much worse for TVR and, on a personal front, the family, I have just received the very, very sad news that Dave (Cummings) passed away last night. I'm rarely short of words or opinions but I simply cannot find the words to sum up my present feelings. I'm sure that a great many individuals, groups, company's etc will join me in offering Claire and her family our heart felt sympathy and show them the support that we received through Dave during this impossible time.
An event second-to-none and only befitting such an icon is being arranged to celebrate Dave's time with us before he graduates to heaven on an exhaust note and parade of colour never to be witnessed again. Oh God, WHY?

Very sad indeed. I have fond memories of Dave, even on the few occasions that we didn't agree I always had a lot of respect for him. A tragic loss.

Dear Claire,

I know you did everything you could for your Dad in his final days - he would have died a very proud man watching his beautiful daughter grow into a fine young woman with a determined spirit.

May all of you take comfort knowing that your Dad made a difference to many in the TVR world.

My deepest sympathy to Claire and her family. I've met Dave every time I've went to the factory and he always was very friendly and helpful. Last time he gave me a present, which is now hanging on my office wall. I'll never forget you Dave.

I liked Dave very much and treasure a lot of memories of knowing and working with him.

Dave was a lovable rebel who would move mountains for people when they needed his help. He was one of TVR's biggest characters with a heart of gold and a mischievous sense of humour. I will always smile when I think of him and his antics.

His passing is very sad news after such a courageous fight. Sincere condolences to Claire and Pat.

I first met DC about 25 years ago on a trip to the factory. He always made time for a chat. We always talked about the 'good old days' and, more recently, 'the patio heater'; a private joke that Claire will understand.
