Automedon gains gravitas
TVR service company goes nationwide
Automedon Sports Cars, the Blackpool-based TVR service centre formed by an enthusiastic group of ex-TVR factory technicians and craftsmen, is going from strength to strength.
Demand is such that Automedon is now offering nationwide collection and delivery -- and has gained endorsement from ex-TVR owner Martin Lilley. Ex-TVR dealer Lilley bought what was then Grantura Engineering in 1965 with his father Arthur, and renamed it TVR Engineering. The Lilleys sold TVR in 1981 to previous owner but one, Peter Wheeler.
All of Automedon's staff have had a minimum of 10 years experience in servicing, repairing and building TVRs and offer combined experience of over 50 years.
Discussion
It's got to be a good thing for TVR owners and Automedon alike.
I spoke to one of the chaps at Automedon a couple of weeks ago re some advice on a replacement brake master cylinder for my Cerbera and he couldn't have been more helpful. I got unbiased and unguarded answers - I must say it was a total change from the reception I've usually encountered from the likes of HHC. I was offered a fixed price service and 10% off my first visit to Automedon too. It will mean a trip to Blackpool and an overnight stay as the car has to be serviced cold (tappet adjustment) but I'm using that as an excuse for a mini break from work and a good blast down the M6 - driving within the speed limit of course! If they offer a pickup service then that would save on hotel bills and an evening in the pub!
All the best to Automedon for offering a much needed, experienced and friendly service for TVR owners. See you in July.....
