I've just heard from someone that Logik, the Scottish TVR dealer has gone under, and that the Factory has been retrieving unsold cars (including a T350C) from it.
Anyone else heard anything - Ted?

Wonder what servicing implications this has to those of us north of the border - anyone currently have a car at Logic at the moment?

This is such a shame, as they seemed to be getting their act together, and they had already had a lot of interest in the T350C...

Well they sold two Tuscans to me this year so I've done my bit.

Dreadnought in Callander are a good service dealer and I guess there are independents like Noel V8 too.

I've heard this too.

You shed a tear? I don't think I was ever critical in public, but I felt they singularly failed to deliver on any of the grand promises.

Better service than Brandon? Well not in my case...after the 'clutch' escapade I never went back. Also, I asked them on 3 separate occasions for a trade in value on the Cerb and payments to upgrade. They never ever got back to me - I had to chase them up every time. They couldn't even get me a warranty on the Cerb, I had to go to Hexham.

Work closely with the club and get some community going? I don't think so. An apperance at one [or was it 2] meetings, and a no-show on a promised visit with the Tamora.

An interest with owners who want to start modifying their cars? Nope. Their eyes glazed over at the mearest hint of a query re suspension settings or whatever.

Arrange lots of track sessions? 2 evening slots in 18 months [or was it only 1].

Back local motorsport? I planned to go sprinting a while back with the Cerb - at that point no Cerbs sprinting North of the border. Any interest...even just a couple of tyres at cost?...no.

I was as pleased as anyone to see them come on the scene and was really looking forward to how they'd give a boost to the TVR community in the Scotland - and they were just 5 minutes up the road from me! Just failed to deliver, in my opinion. Seemed to have had about as much impact on the TVR community in Scotland as the Renault dealership next door.

None of the above would be a problem if they had set out to just sell shiny new TVRs, like any other motor dealer. Problem was they promised so much more, and I think for TVRs they had to be that much more.

Just my opinions though. Others may have different views.

Bad news! And what with Kings Sports Cars in Warwick also ceasing to be a dealer the Official Dealer network is getting smaller!
Maybe TVR will update their website by the end of the year!

I thought that some wouldn't mourn the loss of some regal dealers.......allegedly?

Anyway, we have a positive glut of goodness, a plurality of pulchritude, a non-singularity of noisome nice neighbourly know-it-alls, a severalness of sports-ship, a relative two-some of TVR-dealerness, a duplicity of dealerships and a tandem of Trevorness around Farnham, Surrey, to make up for it!

Both official.

How does that work then?

Sorry to hear about the sad demise of logik.

For a long time at v8 we've struggled to cope with our workload, so v8 have expanded into the unit next door to our current East Lothian workshop in Drem. However, can we assure Logik customers that v8 will be happy to take care of all their TVR needs. From servicing to upgrades on all models, including Tuscan, far beyond normal TVR standards. And I hear that they will take payment in baileys

and as for an interest in motor sport, they might build you a racing tasmin if you ask ...

For anyone who has used Logik for servicing, I've used V8 (Noel) for servicing for the last 2.5 years, and been very happy with the service - including rebushing, chassis brushing/painting, de-pre-cat, etc etc. Currently planning a Rollcentre roll bar being fitted.

Now, Noel, about that invoice...

They do? Noel never told me that . I've been paying him money instead.

Anyway, yes V8 do look after TVRs, and do get involved with the local TVR community, do support local motorsport, do want to get involved in upgrades etc. You don't need shiny showrooms to give good service; in fact the 2 have been almost inversely proportional in my experiences over the years, even with Germanic brands.

Two Tuscans in 5 weeks? That must be the whole production run for 2003 so far, as when I was at TVR last week the factory were producing 350s and little else

I think all TVR dealers should be modeled on Hawthornes. Not only is Rod a first class principal but he is a regular contributor on Pistonheads and he supports local motorsport.

A little harsh I think - they were at quite a few Glasgow meets, usually with a Tamora. They also took a car or two over & donated prizes for Karting at the Irish Celtic bash last year.
Also saw them at the Christmas bash last year.

I agree that they started off a little slow & probably didn't realise what they were getting into, but that they seemed to be finally getting things together, so yes I am sorry for them....

If this is the case,we have heard nothing regarding the validity of the news. However if some of you have problems or require service of any kind for your TVR we are situated 32 miles from the Scottish border, about an hour and a half from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, and I managed Aberdeen recently in three and a half hours, mind that was in a Cerb 4.5!
So please if people have concerns, or require any assistance whatsoever do not hesitate to contact us on 01434 601666

But what people in Scotland who have newish i.e. under 2 year old cars that need servicing at TVR dealerships to keep their waaranties valid?

I will use Dreadnought or Noel but my warranty doesn't run out until October?

I think that TVR Blackpool should take a good look at this and financially support a Scottish dealer otherwise potential customers will look elsewhere for their sportscar. 2 official servicers were poor enough!

Didn't say I wasn't sorry for them. Maybe a little harsh though in terms of club support given what you say about the Celtic bash [I wasn't there], but I just saw 2 appearances at a monthly club meet in the East, of which I think I've been to almost every one in the last few years.

Anyway, point was not to criticise in absolute terms...I'm sure compared to lots of other garages they were great. My comments were geared to the deliverables versus the expectations, and the expectaions were hightened in my eyes by Logik themselves, who weren't shy in saying how much better things were going to be compared to Brandon...I really was expecting great things. Too much maybe.

It's a shame to see any business close. Been there, got that tee shirt. Very tough for all involved so I take no pleasure in their demise. Maybe it would have been better to start with nothing promised and build from there.
