Blue Tiv crashed in Ovingdean

Just been told about this, although the only info I have is the colour and the location of near the roundabout at Ovingdean. I know there were alot of sirens going past my house, so hope that everyone was ok. Also hope it wasn't the blue Cerb that did it not long ago, how unlucky can one person be?

I turned around coming from Brighton as the road was blocked off, from a distance it looked like a blue cerb with the roof off on the wrong side of the road, up the hill from St.Dunstans, the last tiv accident at that roundabout was a purple cerb 8 months ago, that spun off the road and ended up on grass between cliff and road, this appeared to be more serious..hope everyone concerned is ok.

Looking at the state of the Cerb, it could have been a lot worse for the people involved. Thank God it wasn't.It's a lovely bit of road there. The TVR would have come out of the roundabout and into a sharpish left. It can be quite slippery in the wet as there's a fair bit of rubber laid down on the outside. It's very easy to get a slide on. It's dodgy coming from the direction of the Astra as there's a brow and you get a hefty bit of weight transfer onto the front wheels if you have to brake suddenly. you stand little chance of steering when braking. Whenever there's an early morning frost you frequently see cars getting into difficulty due to the fact that it is in shaddow and stays slippery long after the rest of the road. If you are coming home from a night shift and you see a car sliding towards you it can make getting to sleep a bit problematic.

I also know this stretch very well, living in Ovingdean I was subjected all the traffic which was diverted as a result.
It was damp in the morning and it comes as no suprise that he probably lost it on the slight left kink. You can drive it flat out when conditions allow. i.e dry, no traffic, local knowledge of the road.
I'd say that it takes a complete and utter fool to contemplate driving through that kink with any anger on a busy Sunday morning in damp conditions, its just lucky that the driver of the other car was not killed.
