Been down to Kerridges for the unveiling of the T350c and couldn't believe my eyes! It seems that part of both wing mirror housings had missed the paint booth. Didn't think much of it until saw a new tuscan in the showroom with the same "problem". Is this a cost cutting exercise or a new designer touch? I prefer mine all colour coded. Is this now the norm on new?

The VW mirror used on these cars have a textured surround on the trailing edge. Often this is left unpainted - although on some cars it is painted.

To get a good finish on the textured bit you have to build up layers of primer until it is smooth - which is a bit of a pain.

In some colours I think leaving it unpainted looks good. Others it looks crap. Mine are unpainted, but I have a very dark blue car, so the difference is not too noticeable.

It's not a problem it's ment to be like that as they could not get the paint to stay on,although it does not really look right with some coulors.

They started doing it last year and it looks better on some colours than others, but it looks better black than half flaky that's for sure

How's the car going Nick?
