c3c Bruntingthorpe Tuiton Track Day
Discussion
I'd like to say a big BIG thankyou to martvr
for organising and running this event which took place today with the TVRCC c3c group and others; - Noble, Morgan, Morgan(greenhouse Ltd edition!) etc
vast quantities of Optimax were drunk and much rubber was parted with, thanks Martin for spending our money!
Brilliant sunny day as it turned out and I think all learnt a huge amount from our distinguished one handed instructor!!
Good to see RiverGirrl holding her own against the boys and attaining some very fast lap times (LAP TIMES! no I never said that!) - apart from when she wouldn't move to one side, when followed for 2 laps by a faster machine!!
Good to see you all, well done, and thanks - great day!

(probably should have called it an Airfield day - ah well)

Many thanks for the comments Simon, much appreciated. There again, it's not surprising that to amuse a bunch of petrolheads all you have to do is give them access to a wide open track with tuition and a runway session thrown in for good measure (We even provide roof retrieval services).
I don't know what we did to deserve the sunshine but it certainly made for a very good day with some excellent tuition from the one armed Jay Shepherd as could be expected. Doesn't it just make you sick when those brave enough to volunteer their cars for demonstration laps come back wondering how it is he can drive their car on the edge (and way beyond) using only his right hand. Tell me again how he was changing gear!
I have various memories of the day - the nice noise
from Purplelou's brakes down to the metal at the end of the day
; Mike's blue tyre smoke hanging in the breeze after each of his spins ; the wayward Tuscan on the fast right hander
; the cone demolishing flying tent (distinguished gent in a Morgan) ; the Rivergirrl grin after the flying laps ; the novel route from Caro in the formation laps
.......
I reckon it's time for Rivergirrl to take on board the serious risk that she is about to become a trackday junkie - all those worrying signs are there. In fact should we not put her forward as Pistonhead's rep for Formula Woman?
HarryW - It wasn't an official TVRCC event. It was a group of mates who booked our useage of Bruntingthorpe along with tuition and ran our own day. We are probably better classed as PH members although we were mostly from C3C region of TVRCC, (not forgetting Berkshire of course
). A very representative mix of mostly TVRs, with a couple of Morgans, a Porsche and a Noble - no distinctions, we speak to anybody

MARTVR, I am indeed going the route of track day junkie! I was watching the video footage this morning, and I was psyched all over again...re-living that 1** mph left-hander after the 747...re-living how quickly I was straight-lining the first coned chicane...and the scream of Ruby's 275 ponies as they fought to go quicker down the runway...and better still, Jay's complete disbelief that this was my first track day ever!!!
Sweet!!!!
**RG snaps back to reality**
It was a cracking day, and I will *never* forget the trip around, with Jay driving my car. Wide eyed and smiling like a *mad* fool....When can we do it again????? Thanks for an unforgettable day!

Yes, what an excellent day, thanks Martvr!
I would also like to thank the following for rides during the day Martvr (Noble), 21TVR (Tuscan), Purpleou (Chimaera) & John (Morgan).
If you do another one count me in, just give me enough notice so that I can get all the wedge parts together in time!

I'd like to add my thanks to Martin for organising the day - I had a fantastic time, and Brian says thanks to Phil and Martin for the rides. Only regret - I didn't get a ride in the Noble! the yellow Chimaera brought a whole new meaning to "air conditioning" - well I guess things were getting a little warm at 125... ;-)
Many thanks to Martin for organising a fabulous day at Brunters....!! and yes I have the proof I entered into the spirit a set of front and back pads, that might just be good enough to use as shoes for a horse!! Many thanks to Jay who once again has given us all an inspirational day of tutition along with his great humour....ace!! Thanks simon for an unforgettable run in your new Tuscan.......push that pedal down boy,and feel that spirit of Blackpool rush through you.Great to see Rivergirrl & Caro and crew,I reckon you've all got the Bug now....look forward to the next.
