We have confirmed the meeting place - AND ITS ACE!!!
Discussion
Dear all,
Dozens and dozens of man hours have been spent searching for the ideal location for our initial meet point, and our after-event refreshments; and amongst several others, I would like to particularly highlight the huge efforts made on our behalf by Amazon, SimBad-assmf and tvrtuscans.
It was originally planned to hold the initial meeting in central London, but sadly the authorities now just won’t allow it. We have tried absolutely everything, and spoken to more government bodies and authorities than we knew existed. But an initial approval has now been declined.
So, we have moved slightly out of town, only 9 miles from Hyde Park Corner to:
The ACE Café, on the North Circular a mile form Hanger Lane www.ace-cafe-london.com/
who are pleased to welcome us for our arrival with breakfasts, and will look after us for our after-event refreshments.
We will meet here from 12:00 mid-day (although feel free to get there earlier and enjoy a fine breakfast)and depart at 13:00. I exepct that we will arrive back at teh Ace between 15:00 and 15:30 - all depending upon traffic.
The petiton will be presented to Number 10 at 14:00, during which time the parade will drive up and down Whitehall
This final decision was difficult, but the Ace was chosen because
They are happy to have us (many places were at best “ambivalent”
They will provide and hand out vouchers for food and drink to the workers as they disembark coaches.
They are open for refreshments all day.
They will provide extra Marshalls to help with parking up of cars.
They have a PR team who will kick into action on behalf of London Thunder and the Ace Cafe.
They are used to dealing with large numbers of guests.
They do not require exorbitant up front deposits, and fees for room rentals, nor guarantees of a minimum number of attendees
It provides good access for North/South Circular, M40, A40, M4, M1, A1, M25
There are no restrictions on timing for food/drinks or otherwise and Beer is available.
The coaches can remain there whilst we enjoy our parade in London
For those of you who know the Ace, and are concerned about the parking facilities, I can confirm that I have been over to see them this afternoon, and have seen how they will manage with our expected numbers. We will not be the largest gathering of cars that they will have catered for, and they will be providing parking stewards, to make sure that arrival and departure is quick and easy.
I understand that this will provide additional travelling challenges for those coming from the South, but given the unique nature of the event, and the only planned opportunity for you to meet with the workers here in the South, I do urge you all to go that extra yard and meet up with us for the historic start of London Thunder.
I apologise to those folks who may need to amend their convoy details, but have hopefully provided you with sufficient notice to recalculate your routes to incorporate the Ace.
From here, we will travel the short distance to central London in convoy.
Can i please remind you that we hope to be able to take all 100 workers in our cars for the parade, so my simple maths calculates that we need at least 100 cars with spare seats willing to meet at the Ace and return back to it. Could you please sign up here:

Many thanks for your continued support, i look forward to seeing you all here, Setting a new World Record, a quiet parade along Whitehall ( )and putting a smile on the factory workers' faces.
Cheers
David

You dare
They were filming today, so i had to take the opportunity to have a word in their "shell like" (the guys from the Ace made the introductions). They have a full schedule, but the chap was inetersted, but needed to work an angle. More to follow, but shhh, don't tell the others
