THE UNFORTUNATE END OF A MAJOR PIECE OF TVR HISTORY (PICS)

Posting this on behalf of a relative & the owner of this vehicle.
On Saturday 1st October.
The end has come, the unfortunate end to the most famous of all TVR Cerbera's, the former yellow Cerbera 4.5 Red Rose that wore the plate "TVR 100" the best looking and probably (Well in my opinion & the select lucky few that drove it) the best Cerbera that ever rolled out of Bristol Avenue and (The fastest, but that is because Yellow cars are fastest
) . You know the vehicle but unfortunatley it is no longer. The owner asked me to post a few photos of the vehicle not looking at its best but as he thinks it may be of interest.
Pic 1, Count the spins & the tyre marks crossing over in the road & spot the bonnet on the left 4 yes 4 lanes away on the grass !!
Pic 2, Laid to rest against the armco barrier !!
Pic 3, Ouch !!
Pic 3, The rear has gone !!
Pic 4, Front Ouch !
Pic 5, The Driver S*** himself that much in all the action he got that thin that he got out through a 3 inch gap !!!!
The driver was fine only his pride and his pocket were hurt, no cuts or even bruises, the Cerb took the several impacts on the barrier perfectly just suffered cosmetically & with some slight chassis damage. This cas has now been written off, although only covering 16,000 miles in its lifetime it was decided to write it off (although the insurance company were prepared to repair) as it would never be the same car as it was following this.
Well there we go, its all done and gone. The vehicle did run so there will be some amazing salvage out there somewhere.

I had some fun times in that car, it was a stonker to drive and looked the bizness.
It will be missed on my part.

PS...Plonker - can I have the bonnet..? it is still in one piece and will look great as a piece of artwork on my wall..? Ta very muchly

Thats a crying shame.
I saw all he stuff he has for sale on ebay and so assumed it had been sold.
I think the car is pretty standard though (except for RR conversion, lights, seats etc) ie I am told by an insider that the engine doesnt have the same spec as it had when TVR ran it eg different trumpets. What specifically is special about it - ie should we try and save the engine for a TVR fan?

OK then eight........
The car as its standard spec was down at "Power" a few weeks prior to the incident and produced a modest 397 BHP at the wheels, thats without any short ram induction system or modified ecu.
The engine, yes TVR removed all the clever carbon trumpets prior to sale but still its done hardly any miles since a full factory rebuild & check before sale & with that power, go get it its a true great engine.

Glad the driver was okay but I'm not sure I agree with his sentiment: 'This cas has now been written off, although only covering 16,000 miles in its lifetime it was decided to write it off (although the insurance company were prepared to repair) as it would never be the same car as it was following this.' I guess this was a financial consideration as the resale value would have suffered!

Echo that, seems a shame that given the opportunity to keep another Cerb on the road an active decision not to was made. Having said that with any luck it will be sold off as repairable salvage (CatD or C) by the insurance company and someone will make it happen rather than just being stripped for parts.
