I had an airfield day booked next Friday, but cancelled due to -

Our venue has just passed over the new noise restrictions for 2007. There is also a list of a couple of vehicles that are now considered too noisy for the venue and unfortunately TVR is one of them!

Bloody jobsworths, should get a convoy up to parade around around the village, it's an airfield for f***s sake!!

'considered' or 'measured'? How can they ban a make of car for being 'considered' to be noisy?

It's their venue - they can ban whatever they like.

That is actually more likely to be the root of the problem, not the track.

Lol! Maybe we should organise a meet there - anyone with a loud car welcome!

Hmmm... I've only had an hour or so at the helm of my Chimaera so far, but it's definitely more tranquil at full chat than the modified Saab which makes tunnels reverberate even when doing 30 mph in fourth on a steady throttle (and never had a problem on track days even at Zolder where you get a transponder in the car so they know which car to black-flag for being too noisy).
I mean, there's a lot of difference (about 10 dB according to the Bible) between my TVR and a pre-cat Griff, let lone a decatted Cerb...

sheesh. my tvr is one of the quietest track cars you'll find. what a bloody disgrace. If it's true and there's no about-turn soon on the issue I'll never go to elvington again no matter what car I decide to run. Driving all day up and down the local roads sounds a good way to get rid of some anger though . grrrrrrrrr!

Hmmm.... Elvington Thunder 2007, yes I definately like the sound of that. Just wait till I get the De-Cat pipes sorted - Already on 108Db, should be able to push it to the teens after a visit to my good friends bespoke exhaust place

Seriously bad news. I only used the track 2 or 3 times due to the poor surface but it was a fun place to play.

I registered 124,5DB at BNG last year - when the car did a DIY de-cat, so between us we should make a little bit of noise
